I’ve been in the hospital for 3 months now and it’s been a very long humbling experience…. I foolishly thought that despite my Leukemia diagnosis that I was still invincible and listened to no one .
I’m looking at 18 months of recovery and I need to learn how to walk again but I’m grateful for a second chance and I’m giving this all I have. I was a month away from being a quadriplegic and will do all that I can to recover!!!!
I’m grateful for anything now and really appreciate everything. Life is too short and despite being separated from my husband for quite some time he has surprised me by the amount of help he’s been giving me. He’s been with me through the worst of this and I’m trying hard to learn to trust again and forgive.
I’m going to an Acute Rehab facility where they specialise in helping people who have undergone “life altering surgeries”
I’m giving this my biggest effort and I’m doing everything possible to get back on my feet…..

Following a heartbreaking cancelled wedding in 2003 Lou and I eloped in 2004 .... first we surprised and delighted my Mummy on February 11th for her birthday when she was hospitalized again ...
On November 9 2004 we renewed our vows in the gazebo we originally planned to be married on Perkins Cove ,Ogunquit Maine ....
The last 2 years have been a difficult testing time with my Leukemia but I am strong and we will survive this together....
