Edjop by Katski Flores

#CJSays Super Nice! 4/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sino nga ba si Edgar Jopson or Edjop? To be honest I really don't know him that much except for he's a student leader during the Martial Law, bahagyang napapahapyawan lang ang kwento nya sa History class ko dati (I can't remember if it's high-school or college) kaya may curiosity ako about him and to this movie.

The story was based on the accounts of people related to Edjop and it was told in flashbacks in a non linear way, audience should really focus on watching coz may tendency na malito ka or maligaw ka once you missed something but madali din naman sya sundan.

Elijah Canlas proves why he's one of the best actors of his generation, ramdam na ramdam ko yung intensity nya dito, Jodi Sta.Maria is always a dependable actress and she always delivers! Inka Magnaye is a scene stealer as Ursula here but the big surprise of this movie is Kakie Pangilinan! She's so impressive for her acting debut and she's remarkable! I hope to see more of her doing movies or series!

The cinematography of Neil Daza is amazing and the set design is impressive, it looks like we are transported back to the 70s!

To be honest, I expected na naka-focus yung kwento sa buhay ni Edjop, well natackle naman lahat but the movie was also tackled the story of Joyette and Edjop's wife Joy, ang sa akin lang, sana mas focused yung kwento kay Edjop alone though naipakita naman yung struggles ni Edjop and yung buhay nya bilang asawa ata ama, nakakalungkot isipin na nasakripisyo Yun dahil sa mga ipinaglalaban nya.

This movie is a call to action, let's not forget what happened and we must learn from the past but sadly bilang may tendency na magkaroon ng "amnesia" ang mga kababayan natin, importante na may mga ganitong pelikulang magpapaalala sa atin!
