In October last year, whilst living in Australia, I was diagnosed with advanced-stage Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I had to come home and endure six months of intensive chemotherapy a life changing experience, both physically and mentally.

It’s taken me a long time to feel ready to be public about my experience with cancer. But as I slowly rebuild my strength and find my way back to myself, I finally feel ready to share it.

Throughout all the chaos, I documented my journey through photography in a project called UNREMARKABLE. Whilst making the book, I realised just how little we talk about the mental impact of cancer, particularly for young adults, and how difficult it can be to know what to say when faced with that dreaded C word.

I want to use this page not only to share my work and my story, but to create a space for honest conversations around cancer, the realities, the emotions, the things we struggle to put into words, and everything in between.

Alongside this, I’m starting a long-term portrait project exploring the experiences, realities and conversations that so often get left unsaid.

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned there’s lots more to come.

Such a beautiful exhibition and a real honour to have two of my works from my project UNREMARKABLE selected.

It’s been amazing volunteering for the @photoworks_uk Festival, so having some of my own work included was a real pinch me moment!

A huge thank you to @ella_jpeg & @joemarch_photography for bringing it all to life!

This one felt extra special as it fell just one day after the first anniversary of my cancer diagnosis. Seeing my work in print, documenting the past year, felt slightly surreal!

And a massive shoutout to all the other incredible artists involved. I was absolutely blown away by everyone’s work 💙. Lots of love also to my girlies for coming to support me @eve.hollyj @elsiewood @jadeelwell @billiewhittington x taken in POST Creatives by @bea.robins
