Well... this wasn't really the plan. I was happily making beach-cleaned jewellery and somehow I've wandered into my posh earrings era.

You know... the kind of earrings that make you feel like you've got your life together??
Not entirely sure how that happened. The funny thing is, they're still made from beach-cleaned plastic waste.

Imagine someone complimenting your fancy earrings and you casually replying... "Oh thanks, they're made from discarded dog toys and flip-flops."

Here’s the wild part… back on February 13th, 1997, a cargo ship called the Tokio Express got hit by a rogue wave about 20 miles off Land’s End in Cornwall. The impact was so strong that 62 shipping containers were swept straight into the Atlantic.
And in one of those containers? Nearly 4.8 million pieces of Lego.
Not just any Lego either—lots of ocean-themed bits like flippers, scuba tanks, and little pirate cutlasses. And ever since then (over 28 years now!), pieces have been washing up on beaches in Cornwall and even across Europe.
It’s like the sea has been slowly giving them back, one tiny treasure at a time.

Hence why I make my figure keyrings!!! by @beachcleaned

This weekend marks the end of a very busy festival season. This weekend to me is a celebration of what we have achieved so far and where Beachcleaned will be next year.
To our friends at @thebigfeastival thank you for inviting us and making this our final stop this summer. I can't wait to show you that waste can be wearable and plastic in the ocean really isn't great. We are Forever grateful. Xxx by @beachcleaned

Thanks for not giving up on me @beachcleaned

Kerry has been messaging me for a while, but we’ve been so busy. Then one day out of the blue, I bought one of her minifig keychains. I had been eyeing them up for a while and our shop keyring broke. So I needed a replacement! I absolutely loved it. So special and unique. I instantly fell in love with it. I messaged her to tell her how much I loved it, she reached out a few more times to see if we might be able to stock them in the shop and again… life got in the way. But she persisted.

Because she believes in what she makes.

Which is the best part because I believe in Brick Stop and that kind of belief in something beautiful you have created is unbeatable!

Out of the blue.. Kerry sent us 6 to display and see if our lovely customers want to buy! No pressure.. just to see how our customers feel about them.

I think that says everything about her and her work.

And we are proud to have these at Brick Stop!Very limited.

Every piece I create helps remove plastic from our beaches while giving discarded materials a second chance.

I spent this morning collecting rubbish from the beach. Right before the tourists, locals and sun came out!! Gosh it's hot.

This evening I'm turning it into jewellery.
Weird way to run a business? Maybe.

But that's exactly why people remember it.

"She sells sea shit from the seashore." Oh yes I do...

Every piece removes a little more waste from our coastline that's traceable and meaningful. Today has been a great day!!!
