posting because i want this flyer to have a home forever on my page 💒 hand stippled graphic based on the beautiful stained glass and wood in the venue that hosted the event

last month my friend successfully planned and executed this really lovely fundraiser and i was honored to design a flyer for it :) so much love, time, and effort was put into that day and i couldn’t be more proud and grateful for the whole team behind it and for everyone who came out to support ^__^

thank you sahr, pilsen defense and access, everyone i vended alongside - artists, orgs, volunteers - and sameen for capturing a sweet moment on film :)

oh come on, be alive again - my submission for @peopleprinting ‘s hole zine + process pix :-)

cross-stitch and crochet border on handmade paper (made at a people print event!!)

tedious process wherein lots of holes were punched with a sort of makeshift awl

i love the back as much as the front and the way the light shines thru the different parts of the paper….. i <3 making things i can touch with my hands it’s so awesome

iterations from my first linocut print :-) for my fellow wrought iron enjoyers

recently i’ve been very uninspired by my usual digital process (and staring at screens all day generally) so i’ve been focused on more tactile practices like crochet, embroidery, and now print-making

i love seeing the differences between each of the prints - in the angle, in the texture from the paper used, in the salt & pepper from differences in press pressure, in the print opacity from the layer of paint rolled out, in the chatter of different carves - imperfections and details that aren’t produced when working purely digitally

i loved the tactile-ness of it all, cranking the press and putting so much of my physical body into the practice

made at lilstreet with the coolest instructor, would 100% recommend 🤸🏻‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️

it’s been really hard lately to make art, because it’s been hard to do much of anything to be honest. it feels pointless. but i’m trying to keep toni morrison’s words at the forefront of my mind, “this is precisely the time when artists go to work. there is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear.”

so make art. protect each other, support your community, contribute to mutual aid, attend trainings, volunteer, organize, know your rights, and never ever fucking let up. FUCK ICE. taken in Chicago, Illinois by @beachdeath
