We made a documentary! For about two weeks me and some friends spoke to some of Norwich's coolest artists about their performances and the struggles they've faced. If you like Drag, anything adjacent or literally anything ever at all then go give it a watch, link in bio :)

I never thought of myself as the type to make this kind of post, to me it's always been a very private matter that I didn't exactly feel comfortable sharing (especially with so many people now following me that don't know me all that well) but something about the scale of the event plus the recent changes in my life made it feel appropriate to do something about it, write something down at least. Eight years ago I was given some news and drank a hot chocolate the voices of those around me turning to static as I reckoned with the worst thing that could possibly happen to anyone and eight years later I am still here, a little off putting and a tad mentally ill sure, but I'm here. It's amazing what eight years can do to a feeling let alone a person, I find myself these days moreso mourning the fact I didn't know her all too well more than the fact she's gone, her not being here has become a bit of an integral part of my life. Of course I was ten so how could I be expected to know her at all, she was abstract then and she's even more abstract now, I don't remember her voice, I don't remember who she was really. But I do remember that she was my mum, as abstract of an idea that has become to me and much more importantly, I remember she loved me and I loved her, enough to be venting on Instagram eight years later, so that love must've been pretty damn powerful. Grief is a beautiful sadness, while I don't remember much, those ten years she was able to give me must've been excellent for me to miss them so much.

MGS Leavers 2017-2024 (with some vintage photos)
Holy shit. I don't usually like to get sappy anywhere really but I'm afraid this post might venture slightly into that realm so apologies. My time at MGS has not been easy at all from start to finish, I've had to overcome a lot but what has made those hurdles bearable has been the people and to some extent (for as much as I criticize it) the school itself, I would not be here today without the people who have supported and uplifted me throughout these last 7 years. It pains me that I can't tag more than 20 people lol because I would keep going, basically know that if I have spoken to you on a fairly regular basis you have made a huge difference. I started my journey as a small 11 year old child with a buzz cut, struggling with the implications of the deaths that seemed to follow me at that time and I have finished that same journey a slightly less small 17 year old with some stupid haircut coping with those same implications and that has been mostly down to the incredible support I've received from my friends, my teachers and (to some extent) the school. For as much as I like to call the school a deluded relic of a bygone era struggling to maintain what authority it once had in a world that is far ahead of it, it has been my home for these 7 years and manages to posses a kind of character that I haven't seen anywhere else and likely never will see again.
So (somewhat begrudgingly) thank you MGS but more importantly thank you to the people that have made it so incredible. Onto the next adventure.
