A rainy Friday last week (October 2nd), at Champ des Possibles, making Monotype prints together 🐌☔️ Thank you to everyone who came out, got a little messy, and spent the morning experimenting with ink, pressure, and chance 🎲

Stay tuned for Confronting Emergent Dystopia’s next art making session during our fall semesters programming 🍁🍂
So grateful for the time together and making art outdoors, rain and all. taken in Champ des Possibles by @bean_parsnips

Letter from Turtle Island
2025
Colour pencil on paper
15 x 11 inch

Watching the twin towers fall from the Broadway Cafe in Saskatoon. Went to work my shift at Gibson’s Fish & Chips later that afternoon 4-9pm).

Reading Osama’s Letter to America at Peoples potato in 2002. Read Osama’s Letter to America again, in November 2023, as it went viral on Tik Tok. I was supposed to be leading a group critique. I became distracted to the point of leaving the classroom forever.

Drawing because I don’t have the answers, just more questions. It is personal. It can be shared like a letter. It can change over time or in an instant. by @bean_parsnips

Bea Parsons, Cinq, 2020

@mcbridecontemporain

« Parsons est reconnue pour ses monotypes noirs qui utilisent un ensemble de techniques picturales pour évoquer des univers oniriques en lien avec des problèmes sociaux et politiques. La pièce Cinq a été stylistiquement influencée par Philip Guston et aborde les contacts physiques rapprochés durant la période de confinement. »

“Parsons is known for her tonal black monotype prints in which she utilizes a painterly array of techniques to convey dreamlike realms associated with social and political concerns. The piece Cinq was stylistically influenced by Phillip Guston and relates to personal physical proximities during the confinement period.”

🧡 𝗕𝗲𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 – Border Crossings Magazine (@bordercrossingsmag)

We are pleased to share that 𝘬𝘪𝘺𝘢̂𝘯𝘢𝘸, a solo exhibition by Bea Parsons that took place at the gallery autumn 2025, has been reviewed by Cameron Skene in Border Crossings Magazine (Issue 170 – Canada). The article traces connections between Parsons’ vibrant pencil crayon drawings and installation, situating them in relation to enduring and contemporary Indigenous currents of thought, as expressed through recurring ideas, motifs, and forms.

“Pine needles, placentas and ribbons unfurl centrally to the outside, like the ribbon skirt, weaving in the crowded figures at the edges, whose marginal unity alludes to community involvement. The paper works overall are a flurry of shapes, colour and line, drawing the viewer in at first glance but compelling them to dig further. — Cameron Skene (@cameronwskene)
