The Tale of the Glowing Cat

There was once a cat,
too fat, too white.
Who'd sit on a brick wall
from noon to night.

As the sun shone bright on its pretty, glowing fur
It would meow and purr.
Hence goes the story of our shiny little sprite,
Who'd sit on a brick wall from noon to night. by @beaniebhai

The ninth of October, twenty twenty-two. A rooftop in some part of Pune.

We wore sarees, we wore kajal in our eyes.
We held flowers and posed with our loved ones.
We talked about what gender means to us.
We talked about what our bodies felt like.
We cooked together, we shared our stories and our sorrows and our smiles.
For me, it felt one of the safest places I've ever been in.
A place among my people. A place where our 'queer-ness' was celebrated instead of being frowned upon.
Everyone in that room had a story of their own.
This felt like a celebration of that story, of their identity, of being queer.

Thanks to @punequeercollective and @magikian_official for this core memory.
@bhavyagupta98 made us look beautiful with their sensational sarees. I love you so much yaar.
@urmiparanjpye we missed you more than anything else.
