Setenil de las Bodegas in Spain is one of the most unique towns I have visited. Houses, cafes and shops are literally built under a rock ! Once you get here, take a stroll along Calle Cuevas del Sol and Calle Cuevas de la Sombra, the iconic streets. Follow it up with a walk to the viewpoints (Mirador del Carmen and Mirador Balcon de Setenil). Once you are done, pull up a chair at one of the many cafes and restaurants to grab a bite (note that vegetarian food options are limited) Parking is limited so be prepared to park at the top and walk down the town. Best way to reach ? Not easily connected by public transport so car or group tours are the best way to reach. Here is the driving distance from some of the Spanish towns: Seville - 2 hours Malaga - 1.5 hours Cádiz - 2 hours Pro tip - the town of Ronda is just 25-30 minutes away so why not combine both towns on one trip ? Getting lost in the white labyrinth of Frigliana is one of the best things to do in Spain’s Costa Del Sol region. With its whitewashed houses, narrow winding streets, old world charm and pretty pastel doors, Frigliana is arguably the prettiest village in Andalucia. Oh and don’t forget to climb all the way up for some fantastic views - Callejón del Peñón (photo 2 in this carousel and Mirador de Santo Cristo) Wear comfortable shoes since there is a lot of uphill climb. A Spanish city that completely surprised us in a good way ? That would be Granada. If you are planning to visit Spain’s Andalucia region, do not miss the city of Granada. Planning to visit Seville in Spain ? Then don’t miss the walkway at Setas / Metropol Parasol. It provides the best view of Seville along with its churches and domes. About 30 minutes before sunset, make your way to Setas. It is the most beautiful time to visit and see a 360° view of the city bathed in a golden glow. The best thing about buying tickets to Setas is that this ticket gives you a chance to revisit within 48 hours of your first entry. I would recommend buying tickets for the sunset slot and then stick around until the lights come on. Or roam around the city and come back the next day. Your second visit can even be during daytime since it gives a completely different perspective. Check the sunset time before booking your slot since it can vary based on the month. Say hello to one of Spain’s prettiest Pueblo blancos (white village) in Spain’s Costa Del Sol region. This is Frigliana, located around 50 minutes from Malaga and just 15 minutes from Nerja (you can find buses from Nerja if you don’t have a car). With colorful flower pots, hidden corners, beautiful brightly colored doors and postcard views, you are going to have a hard time putting down your camera 😉 A little fun fact - it is often voted as the prettiest villages in Andalusia. Could this be the most beautiful square in Europe ? I believe so 😍 Plaza de Espana is one of those places that leaves you speechless no matter how many photos you’ve seen before ! It is actually not a square but in a semicircle shape , surrounded by a row of buildings. It also features 48 ceramic alcoves / benches, each representing a province in the country. There is a fountain in the center and a long canal with cute bridges. A boat ride here is much cheaper than a boat ride in Venice 😉 I visited in the morning as well as in the evening (photos 1, 5 and 6), and both experiences were equally magical. Here is how you can spend the day in Mijas: - Explore the dreamy whitewashed village perched on a hill - Head to Mirador del Compas for panoramic views - Stop by Santuario de la Virgen de la Pena - a chapel carved into the rock - Grab drinks at Plaza Virgen de la Pena - Stretch your legs at Plaza de la Constitución - Take a stroll on the prettier Calle San Sebastián SAVE this one to your Spain itinerary Malaga day trips Day trips from Marbella Day trips from Malaga Costa del Sol Spain Mijas Pueblo Spain cute towns Costa del Sol guide Costa de Sol towns to visit Spain towns to visit #beantowninspain #mijaspueblo #mijascosta #mijasspain #costadelsol☀️ by @beantowntraveller
When in Cordoba, head over to Puente Romano (Roman Bridge) during sunset. It is a beautiful bridge to walk over, but it’s even more breathtaking at sunset when you can gaze across the river with the Roman bridge and Cordoba’s old town as the backdrop. The best view of the bridge is on the opposite side of the river. Once you get down at the other end, walk down to the left as well as the right side for different perspectives. And stay there until the lights come on after sunset. GOTwill recognize this bridge as the Bridge of Volantis (in seasons 5 and 6). Add this one to your Cordoba itinerary. A Spanish city that completely surprised us ? That’s Cordoba and here is a little guide on how to spend a day in this city. Start your day at Mesquita, a unique mosque cathedral. Spend some time at Plaza de La Naranjos featuring the iconic bell tower. Followed by a leisurely walk around La Judeira (Jewish quarter). Pop into some stores for a little shopping. Check out Calleja de Las Flores (photo 1), a picturesque narrow alley flanked by flower pots on both sides and providing a lovely view of bell tower. Make your way to the colorful flower filled patios around Calle San Basilio, buy a ticket for €6.5 which provides access to five patios. Grab a meal at @volteretacordoba a lovely restaurant offering delicious Italian cuisine. During sunset, walk along the Roman Bridge for a lovely view of the city wrapped in golden hues. Hola Espana - Don’t know why it took me so long to visit you ❤️❤️ Spent 2 weeks in this beautiful country and in love with every corner of it! And the food, oh don’t even get me started 😋😋😋 Here are some quick tips for planning that epic Spain trip :) Best time to visit ? Avoid summers (June - early September) since most cities here can get very hot ! Spring and autumn are better times to visit. How many day required ? A minimum of 10 days. Best way to get around? Most cities are well connected via train. If you don’t want the hassle of dragging luggage thru train stations and want most flexibility, then renting a car is a better option. Budget ? You can get good accommodations ranging from from INR 10- 15k a night (€95-140) and even cheaper ones if you are willing to stay a little far from the main city center Drinks here are cheaper than soda and even water 😜😜 Food also is decently priced. Itinerary Spain offers a wide variety of different regions and experiences. Pick the cities / regions you want to visit and plan your route accordingly. I would advise a mix of cities and beaches so you get a little mix of both. Attractions Sadly most places of interest have an entry fee. I wouldn’t suggest paying for every church / monument. Some like Alhambra in Granada or Alcazar in Seville are non-negotiable and must dos. You may need to book tickets 3-4 weeks in advance since they sell out quickly. Have more questions ?
