This toy has been a wild ride for me! From having art in a New York Times best-selling book @charlieberens @themidwestsurvivalguide to Etch-a-Sketching on the beach in Malibu at @noburestaurants Malibu to talking to tons of kids at local schools.

Today marks two years since Sarah DeMott passed at 11:11 am on 07/11, 2023.

I'm sharing her words of wisdom, every year on this date so that you may all gain insight into some of her thoughts.

Please do us the favor, and by honoring her, read below👇 She wants everyone to know these truths. ❤️🙏

The following words are from a post she made Aug of 2021.

She was such an advocate for not having an illness define who you actually are.

"It has taken me almost 6 years to find the strength to post this.

I am a breast cancer patient. But a breast cancer patient is not who I am.

If you know me in any other fashion, I please ask that you comment about it below to remind me, yourself and everyone else that cancer does not change who I am. It is a struggle I deal with. I would hope everyone who gets diagnosed can be shown the same respect. No questions, no sympathy, no advise. Simply acknowledgement that I am the same person I was before. As I will ever be."

"I want to say how blown away I am by the response I’ve gotten from my post! I was inspired by a dear friend of mine this week to make this post. Its true intention was to send a flash to all my friends that someone with a disability does not want or deserve to always be treated as disabled. I set my boundaries and you all surpassed them! I invite every single one of you to join my non-support support group where we see and react to people based on who they are and not by the struggles they face."

" Also, to all the gawkers and insistent “help” givers and self proclaimed medical experts and people who know people who know what I’m going through, your energy is not appreciated in my life. Although you see it as caring, every time you bring it up, I’m immediately transported back to the infusion chair. I do not and will not constantly live in a state that only represents 1.2% of the life that I love. And I will no longer put up with it and neither should anyone else who is trying to hide in plain sight." by @bearded_border
