Kaija has been having a blast raising caterpillars into butterfly’s this summer. This was our second butterfly, and we now have a huge cage full of 24 new caterpillars starting all over. I’m glad she is able to do, and enjoy, the same cool things I did as a toddler! by @bearded_turkey_mann

Fantastic late season hunt. Tagged along with my past and now current Cowerker today. Was fun to see the passion he has for chasing these birds, and I think we both learned a bit something from each other. This bird and 5 Jake’s came in fast late morning and the rest is history.

Picking mushrooms with GG @debbiecrossman Kaija started doing this with us last year and I hope it’s a tradition we can keep going for a very long time!

Took a very short trip to chase one last turkey for the year. Put on a pile of miles, I’m sore and tired. But the view of the place this gobbler called home made it all worth it. They will lead you to some of the nicest places. Hope to get out with a few friends before the season ends. This spring has definitely tested me and taught me to hunt a bit smarter, but it’s also provided some great memory’s mixed in with the blur of what we call turkey season.

Man, if it could go wrong it went wrong this season. Worked multiple birds this season that read the script until they got in close and didn’t like the decoys, or saw me. Watched a bird I was working get shot out of a vehicle. Drove over an hour, hiked in to gobbling birds and my string blew off my bow on a practice draw. Missed a bird as it turned to run….

Even at the very end i almost messed this one up. I drew my bow fast as this tom was beating on my decoy. This is my spare bow, and the rest is super old. As I drew my arrow fell off the rest, I ended up using my tongue to flick the arrow back up. By this time I had lost about all composure and am honestly surprised I pulled off the shot, but I made it happen!

Big thank you to @lydiak16 for picking up the slack while I have been away in the woods! by @bearded_turkey_mann

9 years in a row I’ve watched Lydia put the smack down on a big tom! This year the best opportunity for us to go was first season and the weather we had coming had me a bit worried if we would pull it off. But we had a sliver of nice weather our first morning and took advantage of it. These birds did not want to leave their hens, but we made a couple moves and ended up slipping in very tight and pulling a tom over for a look. Congratulations @lydiak16! I hope to keep this tradition up for as long as we can ❤️

It’s almost time to chase turkeys, but I can’t stop playing last fall’s memories over in my head.

What a great day to run some tip-ups. Kaija caught this one while jigging, and we used up every one of our minnows. We fished for 5 hours, and she still wasn’t ready to go in. by @bearded_turkey_mann
