Goodbye OEM - Hello performance upgrade. It was a noticeable performance change and it eliminated the misfire i was getting on #4.

Rest in Peace to Juha Miettinen...

Died in a seven car crash on the Nordschleife this past Saturday during Nurburgring qualifying. Nobody wants to go, but there is something to be said for going out doing what you love...

Sidenote: I'd love to see an article about this that wasn't 90% about that Dutch prick who had nothing to do with any of it.

Its time to dust off the snow and start prepping for the spring/summer hooning season!

I'm upgrading my suspension to a full set of Bilstein B12's with Eibach lowering springs. I'm already on Godspeed lowering spring, but they need replacing, so I decided to go with some track-ready shocks, struts, and springs. I'm already lowered around 1.4"/37mm from stock, so I'm expecting ride height to stay roughly the same give or take a 1/4".

To say I'm excited would be an understatement.

I still have to install the new headlights (but its been so cold I haven't felt like dealing with it), and hopefully we're about a month away from being able to swap out the winter rims and tires for the summer set, so its almost go time. I think that the new suspension coupled with the upgraded brakes are going to make for some nice drives this summer!

Well, shit.

I was driving in to work this morning through a full-on city/suburb, nothing but stores, apartments and a couple big car lots. I school but was letting kids on in one of the apartment bus-stops, but not stopping traffic, so I still slowed down a little even though the bus was pretty far off the road (5 lane road)... and a damn deer came running out of the car lot (it may have been shopping for a Kia, I dont know).

Luckily in nearly cleared me and I just bumped its back end... it went running off into the apartment complex and I spent a couple minutes in a "what the fuck just happened" haze.

All things considered, the damage is minimal (don't mind all the salt spray) and cosmetic. The look of terror on the deers face, however, is still haunting me...

I went all in decorating my office for the Halloween contest... I'm expecting first place, unless there's something more prestigious than first, I'll take that, then....

Saturday Project Complete!

Saturday, with the help of Subaru master break mechanic and fellow Vondruke Racing cofounder @andrewjd920, we swapped out the factory rotors and pads on my Mini F56 for @powerstopbrakes Z23 Evolution pads with slotted and drilled rotors.

It went smooth, other than running into a tool neither of us had -a reverse torx socket, yeah, thanks for that, BMW- and then having to confirm that you don't compress the rear piston... you SCREW IT IN?!?! (again, thanks BMW, I appreciate the fuckery).

But the rotors themselves, which I was more worried about being rusted on, came off easily. So aside from some confusion caused by a pretty nice brake cleaning fluid buzz, it all went well!

I finally got around to installing my @racingdynamicsofficial strut bar. I havent been happy with the steering during hard cornering, and this made an immediate difference in chassis flex/body roll.

In my test run, I was feeling confident carrying an additional 10-15 mph into a turn versus pre-strut bar. Its not noticeable otherwise (nor should it be), but its doing the job it was made for, so I consider it money well spent.

I didn't need to fabricate anything for the install, and only needed to alter a couple pieces of trim (with a razor and a rotary tool). It was fairly painless to install...

Don't act like you know about conspiracies if you don't recognize this man. Way back in 1993 this man exposed one of the deepest, darkest conspiracies in the world, pulling back the covers to expose THE PENTAVARATE!

"It's a well known fact, Sonny Jim, that there's a secret society of the five wealthiest people in the world, known as The Pentavarate, who run everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as The Meadows. (Its membership consists of) The Queen, The Vatican, The Gettys, The Rothschilds, *and* Colonel Sanders before he went tits up."
