For all the newbies, welcome. A few things i want to make clear I believe and I-stand for:

I believe in a Free Palestine. Palestine is liberating us, testing us, and showing us the way.

I believe feminism is not without our Arabic Speaking sisters who have shown us more tenacity in the last two years than we could have dreamed in our own movements.

I believe white women have so much to learn.
I believe in free love and somatic empowerment. We are intimate and nervous bodies fighting for systemic change.

We are bodies in resistance.

Eroticism is as the radical streamline to a Liberated State of Being. It is the Aliveness of Justice and rebalance inside our very composition

Pleasure and pain dance to erode us into revolution.

It’s all connected.
It’s personal,
It’s breaking me open.
It’s vulnerable as fuck.

And we are being called:
into correction,
reflected connection and
ground breaking community.

Let’s go. Yalla.

#dvawareness every 10 minutes a woman is unalived by a family member or intimate partner. 1 in 3 experience violence from IP. It’s estimated: 90% of violent crimes overall are committed by men. • 98% of sexual assaults are committed by men. • 83% of violence directed against women is committed by men. Men: DV isn’t a woman’s “issue” - it’s men’s violent and y’all need to get to fucking work on yourselves. Women done want your pity — we want you to stop unaliving us, stop lying to us, stop lying to yourselves. We don’t want your protection. We want you to fkng heal. Do the work gents. We aren’t carrying it anymore.

Well, darlings. It’s been a week and we’re heading into a full MOON. The Mood — is felt. Swipe >> 🎠 to see m’vibes this week. 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

It’s honestly been a long month for so many of us, every conversation I have is a dissection and deconstruction, and it’s a lot of survival. But I did a meditation session tonight and she asked us,
• what are you holding onto?
•And who is holding you?
•What is your vicarious anxiety?
•And what is actually yours?
Give yourself room to feel the feels, and breathe & come back to the body — dance, move, knock over trinket, nap, be fierce, cry it out, all the things.

& honestly there’s new writing on m’stacks. The stories on ig here are packed and maybe we all need to embrace being disturbed 😏
May empires fall. ✊🏽 & Net’yhoo receive his due Karma

The mountain breathes,
the trees witness,
while the waters baptize.
Holy ground, Sacred ceremony. Hiking season is here.
Mama Earth is whispering,
Energy is shifting
And I am so glad for the company I keep.
Grief, joy, quiet, laughter
All permissible, all present.
Autumn is welcome.

09/11: I stand at the families who lost their loved ones. And also, I call us all in to pay attention, not just to what led to the events, but what came after and how the US has ripped open what it has long been…. A horror show for the world.

🎥: I filmed this is Sept 2021 while I was in NYC outside the World Trade Center Memorial. Maybe it’s time to reflect in the mirror, America. •

Mica was Rpd over and again, forced testosterone, assigned mental health drugs and psychologically manipulated by her partner.

The Death of a Pastor’s Wife stirred many things and in the coming days I’ll add my voice to it more and share more (pop up to my Substack for the gritty stuff).

Deconstruction was not a buzz word, 20 years ago when I lost my religion and fled.

Like Mica did.

I didn’t lose my soul. But I wrestled with my internal world, my spirit, my body, my trauma, my nervous system, my sexuality, my belief.

Rooted in my story lines are western Xtian demands, a home littered with DV, a marriage where Rp kept me fighting for my life. All before the war zones, SA …and all of that.

I was confronted, and forced to tackle early in life the abuses of men, religion and systems built against me, against every woman and certainly 1 in 3 who face an intimate partners’ brainwashing, grooming and coercions.

We know Mica, in our bones, don’t we?

This is when women not only need to come together and tell our stories, but also to fashion our collective into a revolutionary fight ahead.

From Epstien to the case of Lindsey Clancy to Mica Miller, do we see it yet? The same system which enslaved and Rpd and tortured our Black & Indigenous sisters — has been doing so w white women, just as slithering, and rotten. We cannot afford to uphold the fucking system. All it ever wanted was control, white babies and to discard when he was done, in mental hospitals and prisons.

 Fight back, rage, resist.

I know it’s hard, and if you’re a survivor, I want you to know that I see you and your experience was real and I validate you. we are not meant to process all of this alone. so let’s not.
•
And if you are wanting to find your voice in this, unravel it, reach out to me and I walk & coach you through it. DM & we’ll find the space.
•
If you’re in an emergency ‼️ situation I encourage you to call 988 or DV hotline 800.799.SAFE (7233)

I have to be honest, I didn’t expect the death of someone like Glen Hansard to hit as it did. I’ve shed a tear or maybe it’s sweat.

His music has moved through my playlists over the years. But when I was introduced to him many moons ago, through an ex/bf, and Hansard was an artist we often found rhythm with together, even when our relationship struggled. Hansard’s ‘Swell Season’ collaborative albums, in particular, are still my favorite.

When I examine closely, what’s hitting,
I think it’s the sweetness of the music 🎶 created, and perhaps how the music brings me back an ache and a love which my soul holds open for something beyond me, something close, the years of ‘falling slowly’ over and again.

What’s connecting is a return to my inner world.
There is a soft resistance when we feel it fking all and through the music. An honesty. A rooted intimacy.

The song Low Rising is a perfection,
~ it’s where I land looking at the world.

“Low rising
Cause we’ve gotta come up, we’ve gotta come up
Low rising
Cause there’s no further for us to fall.
Low rising
Til I feel we’ve had enough
Low rising
All for the love of you.”

The song is a dripping desperation for repair. It’s a song longing to get it right, to meet a lover, to tend to the grief, to fall down drinking away inhibitions to come back to life, by “tearing these curtains down.”

Ahhhhh, my darlings. Do you feel it?
~ Isn’t this where we all are right ….now?

Can we find each other here?
Can we “jump right in,” and talk tonight?
Where are we luvs?
How do we return to ourselves? WITH* each other present?

There is a real ache in this heat, the rains are literally evaporating in all the wrong places. Is this not this reflective of who we are as a people right now?

May we tend to each other…in grief and joy, celebrate each other, find each other, sit w/ the discomfort of each other, find love in one another.

“We’ve got to get better at repair,”

as We wish a brilliant artist farewell, & may we adapt his words, run with them into a future of who we could be, yes?

And I miss my grandmother more lately. I was born on her day. She stayed with me until I was 17. She would be 91 this year.
Perhaps she’s always been and yet, when I stepped into plant medicines 7 yrs ago, she showed up in a way I didn’t expect.

Okay, Okay, I’m also low key obsessed with Frida Khalo, too, who painted like a madwoman, like the way I write. Born on a 6th of July and died on a 13th, cancerian kindred or something like it.

She gave color to pain, and beauty to sorrow, lived w ferocity and vulnerability, romanticized and poeticized a world gone mad, seeing herself reflected by her own design.

May I be the same.

I am the evolution of women, who needed to pass the baton, Generational Healing floods my soul.
Resistance was always in my Erotic Bones.

~ And liberation compels my artistry bc I don’t just live and fight for the girl I was, I do it for every girl, for every kid because they’re all my children: ‘my’ nieces, nephews, sons and daughters.

Another year survived, it’s not quite what I expected or imagined, for better and worse, ffs

I feel it fkn all you know 😏

May the next one come smoother, may a breath find its way through the cracks,

For the line
For our kids 🇵🇸
& For the madness to find a life in color and wonder
