The Audemars Piguet x Swatch Royal Pop Collection craze has hit. You’ve seen it over the weekend. The fights, the secondary market prices, and a lot of unhappy collectors/scalpers — everything has gone according to plan. Now that the world knows the design as well as a more realistic idea of how hard or easy (if you have the means to pay 3x – 4x retail) it is to buy, do people still want it?

If history has taught us anything, it’s that fast, mass adoption is a double-edged sword – you get everything, and everyone all at once – people who genuinely like something, and those who are just there for the ride. Then that candle burns from cool to uncool overnight.

Is this one of those instances? We’ve asked a few collectors to weigh in on this release and to see if they’re going to be adding one to their collection.
