The KAMIKAZ is getting pretty close to the sight of a finish line! We now have a strong 4.36 gearset from @parts.from.japan, we’ve upgraded from V1 @gktech_official super lock lowers to their V4 versions, which now has on car adjustments, a flipped design so the arm goes OVER the tie rod instead of under like V1, also naturally drops the car far more than V1, I had to raise my front coilovers by like 2 inches and I’m still tire to fender. (Good to know when I really earth this unit). Car got new rear wheel bearings and for once I actually torqued the center nut to spec and it held up really great! I was changing wheels to drive home and I had zero play in either bearing and that’s after a weekend of beating it and having a couple offs and hitting some curbing on entries! I haven’t driven this car much recently in drift settings so this past weekend was really the first time the car has held up and has been as close to 100% as it could be! Some small tweaks in what I normally run for tire pressures and I should be pretty happy with it!!! The last and final step here is to build some power and I think I wanna do some cams and slap it on nitrous! But then that’s pretty much it! I have no insane desire to do a crazy swap. I’ve wanted a VQ that will sound different from the majority (because of cam work) and I’m so eager to actually tune this car, I have plenty of parts that will help the car perform but haven’t tuned anything in yet! I’m hoping to drive a handful more events this season so I can get back into being comfy in the car! It’s been a long time since I’ve felt the car is able to be driven to its full potential and I struggled a ton the first event back this year, plus made a lot of damage that had to be fixed. If you didn’t enjoy my driving this weekend then fuck you! 😂 I’m still trying to get it all dialed in again and I haven’t been able to attend local events to bunk out!

$Raising a child is a lot like playing chess…except I was never taught how to play chess. We stopped at this gas station on our travels today and I had a surreal moment with my daughter, who gets bigger everyday. Time is a really funny thing that refuses to slow down. Despite the struggles we faced today trying to find a car, this small fraction of time (maybe 10 minutes we spent here) really sort of recentered me and made me love her extra hard, on a random rainy Sunday! I just hope she knows how hard I try for her to have everything I was never able to have. And I don’t mean that materially. #DaddyDaughterLove #RainyDays #Explorer #CountryStores taken in Imperial Gas and Country Store by @beat.to.deth$
