I only knew a few Olivia songs going into last night’s show but I was so impressed by her production team, vocal stamina, and insane live band so I had to give this a spin. I’m certainly not a music director but I did make one slight edit (wait for the pause!) that I thought was cool. I had to dial the stadium snare reverb for this! Cheers, @jordiiisoo @daisyspencer @iamcamilamora @sheplaysbass @guitarianna @oliviarodrigo — you explored so many different genres and sounds while keeping OR’s pop sensibility front and center. Beautifully done.

I once told my wife at a show that she was there to see John Mayer while I was there to see Steve Jordan. I could listen to @jayveerecords and @pino_palladino_official_ play all day and night. #johnmayer #heavierthings #drumcover #drummer #drums taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @beatsbyrob

A Deftones x Britney mash-up — I’m a lifelong Deftones fan but will never say no to a sticky pop hook. It’s Britney (and Chino), b*tch.

Kit appreciation post - I asked Josh at @inde_drum to build a custom brass kit with a dark patina finish and he absolutely knocked it out of the park. They are heavy as hell but they have an incredibly versatile tuning range — plus they look bad ass! Make sure you chat up Josh for really cool drums, innovative hardware, and modern designs for the working drummer. taken in INDe Drum Lab by @beatsbyrob

I love this record “Gravity” by Holding Absence — it got me through the pandemic and actually inspired me to start writing. If you wait for end of the clip, you can hear an insane drum riff by @ashstgreen… what an amazing drummer. #holdingabsence #drumcover #zildjjan #drums #drumcovers taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @beatsbyrob

I’m a big fan of this intro and groove by @bedforddanes75 and @the1975. It’s so rare for modern pop to have a signature drum fill (especially to lead in a song) and he absolutely smashed it. Let me know if anyone (esp GB players) caught the Easter egg fill I put in there :)

My favorite heavy band. No question. I love this track, album, band, and drummer — and I’m so happy to see them active again. @poisonthewell @chris.hornbrook #poisonthewell #crystallake #youcomebeforeyou #fyp #drumcover taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @beatsbyrob

Big shout out to @nobleandcooley @parradrums for this stunning 7x14 solid walnut snare! Beyond the gear and hospitality, I got educated on drum physics by their master builder Ricardo, saw their crafting process, and walked through the historic walls of the country’s oldest drum builder. Beautiful experience. taken in Noble & Cooley Center For Historic Preservation by @beatsbyrob

Early Abe Cunningham and Deftones were so punk. If you know, you know. #deftones taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @beatsbyrob

This won’t make the algorithm but I appreciate the simplicity of @bengillies888’s drumming. He took an orchestral approach to this record “Emotion Sickness” (off the album Neon Ballroom) which I admire. I love drummers who serve the song/vocalist and he does just that.
