Mom,

You would have been 72 today.

This is one of the last pictures that I took with you. I never liked being in pictures but that day I wanted to share one with you. I didn’t know that you’d be gone 3 months later.

Today is your birthday and I’m thinking of all the things that I’ve wanted to share with you but I can’t. That’s hard for me.

I miss you and it breaks my heart. But I think about all the beauty you gave me everyday of my life. And I’m thankful. I think of you and I remember all that I gained by having you as my mom.

The world feels very different now that you are not here. I long to hug you and hear your voice but I’ll only have that in my imagination. I hold all of our memories in my heart and mind, I’ll never forget you.

Happy Birthday Mom! Keep resting.

Today you closed one beautiful chapter and stepped into another. 🎓✨ From your tiny backpack and little hands to your growing confidence and bright smile, you’ve filled this year with so much joy and pride.

Kindergarten looks so good on you, but 1st grade is calling your name! 📚🍎
