Just wanted to share my last 6 days with you as I've recovered from my Fraxel Laser with Dr.V @gvmd.inc

The main things to remember are give yourself 5 days to recover...meaning keep skin coated with recovery balm, stay out of the sun, and be patient! I did run into a beam at our house(construction) and basically bruised my nose because I'm clumsy so don't mind that throughout the progression as it had zero to do with the fraxel. I do an annual laser which has been wonderful for my skin. Remember every skin type is different so make sure you work with a true professional. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Today I'm just sad. Grateful to finally be back home but my heart is broken. I'm struggling to process the grief I am feeling for so many of my friends, clients and community. I'm struggling to process the magnitude of what has happened to my home. And by home I mean not where I fall asleep at night but for the place I have spent so many hours, days and years. I've lived in LA 26 years but the Palisades was the first time I felt like I had a home. A community of people. When the kids transferred to Pali Elementary in 2nd and 4th grade...I never imagined that we would also find our people. A place where my kids could walk around safely from school. Jump from friend to friend's house, go to garden cafe, swim team, baseball, surf, dog walks, hebrew school...and I too had my crew...I've worked in all of your bathrooms, on your faces, had dance parties, basement jam sessions, broke bread...laughed, cried...I pulled a few of my favorite memories from when Pali fully embraced me. 2018...literally feels like a lifetime ago...And I know we are strong. And we will rebuild. But today I'm sad. I know that Presley's future at Pali High and her friend group is completely displaced...and I know I am not alone in this collective grief. There are so many reminders and pictures out there already about the devastation to our beloved Palisades. Our community, our home. Craig took this photo while he was still up in the canyon helping and supporting the in the best way he knew how. Our canyon evacuation has been lifted and we still be another week to clean up our homes which we are so thankful to have. 2 homes burned on Mandeville which pales in comparison to the loss and devastation just a couple miles away. The firefighters worked day and night to save our canyon and I want to thank them. Being in the eye of the fight and not knowing where things stand has been the most difficult rollercoaster. But also knowing we have been spared feels also incredibly difficult bc our best friends, clients, community have lost so much. Having kids that's school are gone and damaged feels overwhelming because of the unknowns of what the short and long term future holds. The unknowns about how and when and to what level of safety the toxicity of the clean up will have on those of us still standing bogs my mind daily. All I can say is my brain is only able to process the short term steps that we can control, like getting our homes effectively cleaned so we can sleep at home. But, it's the long term and bigger picture questions are weighing on my heart.
How do you exist when your community has been wiped out? How can it be assured that we are actually safe from the toxins so near by. Today I will just take one breath at a time. And then tomorrow it will be one day at a time. And one prayer at a time. I am truly devastated for the Palisades, Malibu, Altadena and all those surrounding communities picking up the pieces of this enormous ripple effect. My prayers are with everyone. by @beautybeyondla

My heart is broken for our community. I can't even process tomorrow but today I'm trying to do something to help my friends, clients, community that is displaced. As you know the Palisades is my home. My kids school, temple, best friends, farmers market, dentist, doctors, market...where we spend our every day. The firefighters have been working day and night to save our Canyon. Sullivan/Mandeville and today we have been spared. I don't know when I'll be able to get back home so I wish I could ship your orders from there but in the mean time if I can help get you your favorite products I will. Working with my vendors to drop ship orders. I love you all. I have been inside your homes, editing your bathrooms, working on your faces, connecting with you and I love you.
