somehow, the film has found its way into 6 festivals this month — TOFUZI International Animated Film Festival, @bournemouthfilmfest , @lusitania_animadoc , @canlandiranlar_ , @londonbreezefilmfestival and BIDEODROMO International Experimental Film and Video Festival @festival_mem — with screenings across Batumi, Gdańsk, Istanbul, London and Bilbao.

and some very lovely news along the way: Best Student Experimental Animation from @newyorkshortanimationfestival , a Special Mention from BIDEODROMO, and Finalist from @londonbreezefilmfestival !

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘣 has also been invited to join the DOK Film Market at DOK Leipzig @dokleipzig , where it’ll be available in the market’s online catalogue and film library at the end of October.

thank you to everyone continuing to give this little film a home beyond mine. it truly means the world.

this weekend 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘣 screened at @womenxfest @riannepictures and was nominated for Best Animation Film! i was also invited to speak at the festival’s Composing & Sound Design Cafe Chat.

had such a lovely time meeting so many talented filmmakers and new friends, and being in a space full of strong women passionate about making and telling stories by and about women.

ty Alice and Brooke for keeping me company and being my ride + accom to Darlo 🫶🏻 don’t know how i survived the first day with the flu. it’s also my first week back in the UK after 5 years in the US, had my first full english breakfast and Greggs sausage roll in years and couldn’t feel more complete 😌

ty Women X for the wonderful opportunity and such a lovely weekend!

so incredibly grateful to @vrboskafilmfestival for being the first festival to screen 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘣, and for awarding the film a Special Mention!!

for those who know me or have seen the film, i struggled with agoraphobia and at one point didn’t leave my apartment for over two months. i promised myself that one day i’d challenge myself to travel somewhere alone.

five years later, i’ve somehow done what once felt impossible: a film made entirely within the confines of my apartment had its World Premiere overseas, and i made the journey there on my own. (shoutout to my sister who joined me for the latter half of the trip. so not quite a full solo trip, but a pretty big step forward nonetheless!!)

i couldn’t be more grateful for the kindness of everyone i met in Vrboska and all the support the film received throughout the festival. thank you for believing in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘣 and for making its first festival experience such an unforgettable one.

(and ty @nikolaradovani for the photos!)

𝘚𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘯 (2026)

been a full year since i last made an illustration. started this one two months ago while procrastinating on my thesis film. while making this, i was thinking a lot about what comes after university, and this piece became a reflection on agency and learning to find one’s own way.

also, being year of the horse (my zodiac), i figured this one was appropriate 🐴🏰🌾
