Grief is really strange emotion but I find if I focus on the great memories it makes the hard memories easier to handle. I usually don’t post personal challenges on social media but in the coming next few days I think I might give it a try as a friend told me earlier today that she found that sometimes sharing encourages healing and right now I’m in the middle of losing my father and I’m feeling pretty freakin lost. 😞 How do you feel about posting personal things on social media ? #attentionseeker #goodgrief #energyhealing by @beauxtech

Happy 52nd Anniversary Mom and Dad. our family may never fully recover from losing you both but I know you are both together holding hands and still very much in love. Thank you for all the love you gave our family and for always striving to do the right thing and just being honest hard workin and reasonably good human beings. I know I have been hugging my friends a little harder and longer these days, some of them even getting a little uncomfortable but it’s okay it’s good for them. Most of my friends feel like i should be over this grieving process but I’ve learned that grief is not something you can always control you can be fine for a couple weeks and then one night it will drag you out of bed and have you on your knees so I’m just holding on for the ride.! If you ever taught me anything It was never leave anything unresolved. Even If it usually always means you have to be the bigger person … well I’m starting to get emotional so I’m gonna wrap it up. I love you and I will always shout my love for you both from the tops of the mountains. You weren’t just my parents you were my closest friends and I will celebrate your love until the die I’m gone .. please look over all of us as we take each day on none of us being too sure what to expect. ps . Keep Sending me signs when you are near it helps a lot.
Nothin but love to offer you two love birds.

This collection of photographs of my father’s life is the single most challenging project I have ever undertaken. I wanted to quit so many times because sorting through it opened up a depth of pain I never knew existed.
I remember being two or three years old, sitting while my father played Santana’s “Europa” over and over again until he had memorized every single note. Hearing it now that he is gone sounds strange and hollow—the entire world just feels and sounds different somehow. It’s hard to put these emotions into words, so I’d rather turn them into music.
