LETS FUCKING GO!!!!!! 🌈🙌🏼💛

148 days, 4000+ kilometres, 3 US states, dozens of amazing people, countless incredible views, never ending laughs and the absolute best of times - there are honestly no words for this experience!

To everyone I met - YOU’RE ALL SUPERSTARS and the experience would not have been what it was without every single one of you - I’m gonna cherish you all for ever and ever.

I’m a little too snoozy to write anything more right now but watch this space, more to come - plus the last 5 trail recap videos hehehehe

LOVE YOU ALL!

Check my hiking gear! Anything you’d change?!

🔗 All linked up top in my lighterpack

I use this for just about any overnight hike I head out on! Whether it’s a single night or multiple months.

I have my Nemo tent here as my next hike is in hot dry conditions and I like sleeping with the fly off, I would swap it out to my Durston X mid pro 2 if it was going to be wet!

Similarly I have my warm sleeping pad here, I would change this to a. Lighter weight one in summer conditions!

Also forgot to add my first aid kit to this flat lay, would usually have a snake bandage, bandaids, leukotape, paracetamol, ibuprofen and some insect repellant (condition dependant). by @bec_conroy

Let’s Hike the PCT! Part One! Mexico California Border to Big Bear! (mi 266)

At first I thought I could somehow fit the entire trail into 20 images. I have honestly zero clue as to what I was thinking, when I have THOUSANDS of photos of this 2650 mile journey.

Instead I’m going to break it into sections, and remember some of the highs and lows and everyday things in between.

Sure, I could post dozens of gorgeous trail photos and views, but in all honestly, you’d probably get bored… the magic of the PCT is the moments in between. The seemingly ordinary day to day life things that make existing on trail what it is.

So strap in, this is part one of many… as they say, watch this space. taken in Pacific Crest Trail by @bec_conroy

Omg had the most spectacular few days slipping and sliding down the slopes at Falls Creek this week !!! Second time at the snow and I’m hoooooked, it’s so much fun!!!!

We had moments of very low visibility early in the week (got evacuated off the mountain due to wind) followed by rain and then two perfect blue bird days!

We camped in the van and ate homemade sambos for lunch - the chairlift may be my favourite place I’ve enjoyed a peanut butter sandwich 🥪

I held the Strava local legend on Main Street at the towers lift for a tiny moment in time, just in time for Sean to steal it from me.. I absolutely didn’t get the fastest time (surprisingly 😂) but damn it’s cool watching people ski and board well down, magic!

Got some cheeky tips from our pal and excellent instructor @dupreeqhip and got safely into the chair lift thanks to lift queen @aliraaay 🥹

Anyway, another hobbie to add firmly to the list - amateur at it all and enjoying every second. If you made it to the bottom of this description, well done hehe put your fave emoji in the comments for fun.

Okay love you bye! Have a great weekend! 💘 taken in Falls Creek by @bec_conroy

INFO BELOW 👇🏼🥾⛺️💘

📍The Larapinta Trail, Northern Territory

The Larapinta Trail, is an epic hiking trail in the heart of Central Australia. It runs over 223km through Arrente Country, along the spine of Tjoritja / the West MacDonnell Ranges.

The trail starts at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station, and traverses a section of Tjoritja /West MacDonnell ranges to end at the summit of Mt Sonder, the highest point of the trail.

For hikers the trail is split in to 12 sections and each of these sections has:
🛖 a Shelter
🚽 a drop toilet
💧 a water tank*

* ⚠️ These tanks are monitored in hiking season by rangers however outside of this period they are not, and they cannot be relied on for water

How many days will it take to hike the Larapinta Trail?

Now this is a question with no real answer. The most common amount of time is 12 to 14 days, and I think this is a good amount of time for most people. This will mean you get to visit most of the side trips on the trail also, which are not to be missed! We did it 9, met people doing it in 21 and heard of others that had done it in 7. It really depends what you want to make of it! 🫶🏼

👣 What we did:

Day 1: Alice Springs Telegraph Station to Simpsons Gap (26.5km)
Day 2: Simpsons Gap to Jay Creek (26.8km)
Day 3: Jay Creek to Brinkley Bluff (25.2km)
Day 4: Brinkley Bluff to Hugh Gorge (25.1km)
Day 5: Hugh Gorge to Ellery Creek North (28.7km)
Day 6: Ellery Creek North to Serpentine Chalet (26.3km)
Day 7: Serpentine Chalet to Ormiston Gorge (30.5km)
Day 8: Ormiston Gorge to Rocky Bar Gap (24km)
Day 9: Rocky Bar Gap to Redbank Gorge & Mount Sonder summit (26km)

⛰️ Every day had between 600 and 1300m vertical gain so these were some seriously big days!

🥪 We chose to have 2 food drops on the hike, meaning that at any given stage the max amount of food we were carrying was 4 days worth. Which is great because food sure adds up in pack weight.

🛻 Some of the companies to use for the above services include:

• Outback Elite
• LTTS
• 100% Adventure

🐁 There are native mice on the trail so it is importing to secure your food each night so they don’t get into it! taken in Larapinta Trail by @bec_conroy

Pacific crest trail reminding me every single day that I’m alive 💘

Hiking over 4000km across almost 5 months.

I traversed 3 states; California, Oregon and Washington, slept under the stars, ate ramen for every dinner and tuna wraps for every lunch. I ate more gummy lollies than I have in decades and walked an average of 30km per day (with that number being closer to 45+ by the last month). I met friends I’ll have forever and made memories I can’t even come close to explaining. The Pacific Crest Trail will always hold a huge piece of my heart.

Looking back at videos makes me happy but also sad because I miss it so much. The most simple of existences paired with day in day out hard work. It was a dream. I cannot wait to have an adventure like this again, if it exists. taken in Pacific Crest Trail by @bec_conroy
