Judah has been selected for the Waikato BBall U16 Australian BBall Cup - Koru Tour 10-17 January 2027 in Albury Wodonga, Australia.

The fees required covers flights, travel in Australia, accommodation & food, team costs & tournament fees. The full cost comes in at $4000 😳😅

The ‘Got Your Back’ fundraiser is pretty simple…

👕 We have 30 spots available
💰 Each spot is $50
✍️ You will be sponsoring Judah to get on tour. Your name / business name will be printed on the back of a hoodie that Jude will wear while on tour - that’s pretty special.

You don’t have to pay the $50 all at once, you’re welcome to split it across multiple payments. If $50 is outside your budget, we completely understand. You can also make another donation and still have your name added to the hoodie. Just flick us a message.

Judah only started basketball last year. His first team environment was at the end of last year, representing Māori reps. Since then, we’ve loved watching his confidence, love for the game and skill on the court grow.

This year was his first year playing rep ball, and we were so proud when his first trials landed him in the second-highest rep team in Tauranga 🙌

Since then, he’s had the opportunity to be selected for 5 other teams outside of his rep team, which has been pretty cool to watch.

One of those opportunities is with Waikato Basketball, where he has been selected to play in the Australian Junior Bball Cup - Koru Tour ‘27! 🇦🇺🏀

Jude turns 13 this month, but he’ll be playing in the U16 div 😮‍💨🔥 and from what we’ve heard, it’s going to be a tough week of basketball!

It’s a huge opportunity for him and a big commitment for our family. Trainings are held in Hamilton, and the cost of travelling to Australia adds up quickly.

We’d absolutely love your help to get Jude on that plane ✈️🏀

Can’t believe we now have a teenager in the house 🥹

13 today and it feels like only yesterday we were putting him to sleep as a new born in a drawer from Becs parents bedroom 😂 I know it’s dumb, he’s not on any social media channels so he won’t see this lol but we’re so proud of the young man he is becoming. So just a boast post coz we think he’s pretty special!

Had the privilege to watch my niece perform last night for Kapa Haka Nationals in Tauranga Moana.
Oh man, I did not have a dry eye at all!
So beautiful and emotional to watch 😭 ❤️
Special whanau time, which is just what I needed.
So proud of you Bre Collier!!
I felt Elias with us, watching. He would have loved being there and watching his cousin perform ❤️

Breaking the social media hiatus 🥷 coz I’m so dang proud 🙌

Judahs first trial for city rep teams and got selected for the B team! They’ve been working hard for the last 6 weeks and although they weren’t expected to place anywhere near the top, playing mostly A grade teams from around the BOP region, they made it to the finals…just missing out on 3rd place coming in 4th!

Seeing J in his element, in his sweet spot and in his passion has been something really beautiful to watch. Seeing his confidence grow as he collected the evidence that he’s got it - has been so rewarding to see as his Dad. I used to think external things and platforms were my ministry…but standing courtside, driving between trainings and games, pep talks in the car and trainings together has reminded me that they will always be my first ministry and my greatest joy!

Tinged with the sadness of losing Becs Gran…🫶

Four days I won’t forget. Bring on the next season 🏀

Thank you all who donated/supported Judahs basketball tournament in Rotorua.
His team, who hadn’t had much time together, did amazingly well to place 4th out of 12 in their division, just missing out on a podium finish.
They were disappointed but all the team supporters, parents and team management were soooo proud of them all!
What an amazing experience. For Judahs first tournament outside of school, it was so cool to see his confidence grow and
I’m so glad that Judah got to be apart of this amazing opportunity, it was hardcore but worth all the effort.
Worth the Sunday sacrifice for him to train and play games with his team.
He is very keen to do it all again for next year!
Me and Kurtus couldn’t be more proud of our little Jude.
He is so talented and can’t wait to see what opportunities arise this year for him and his try outs for reps 🏀

BBALL FUNDRAISER

Hi everyone,

Our son Judah has made it in Te Maru O Mauao Basketball team U14 and their team is heading to Rotorua for a tournament from Mon 19 - Wed 21 Jan 2026. He’s super excited and it’s his first time being a part of a league outside of school.

To help with costs we’re helping him with some fundraising to supplement travel, accommodation and fees etc…

If you’d like to help at all you can select a number from below and pay that corresponding number in dollar value. So if you select 8 you’d donate $8…21 and you’d donate $21…etc etc

SEVENTEEN YEARS 💍

My favourite thing about our marriage is how much we laugh. Literally everyday (give or take) is filled with laughter and jokes and roasts that sometimes roasts a little too much but many many many fun. V v v much love laughing through life with you.

Ups and downs. Moments that tested, and situations that have shaped us. Finding joy in grief and hope in the unknown. Though imperfect and flawed I’m thankful you chose me, and me you. And I hope we do for a life time. Love you Mrs. Buchanan!
