A few months ago I decided to join a gym for the first time in 6 years. The last time I worked out in a gym was precovid and pre-babies. For 6 years, I have had highs and lows maintaining a workout routine in a home gym. I was home for nearly 17 months with my kids in school and could not get my mind in the right place to maintain a steady workout program. I struggled mentally, physically, and emotionally to commit. I knew something had to change if I was going to change my life. A friend kept recommending a local gym that he thought I would like. In March, I walked into @fitnessnextgeneration with the hopes of feeling like I was back in my high school and college years training for sports. I knew immediately I was going to join that day. I sat down with the owner and paid for two years up front. I said, “hopefully me paying up front will make me actually commit for two years.” A few weeks went by without me going to the gym. There was always an excuse of why I couldn’t go that day. Laying in bed one Sunday night I told Ryan I was going to the gym in the morning. He said, “set your clothes out the night before. Wake up and tell yourself you’re going. Do not make an excuse. I don’t care if you don’t do anything around the house. I’ll wash the dishes or fold laundry when I get home from work. Please go to the gym for yourself.” I did exactly that. The next day I walked into the gym and saw @annaliese.johnson. We started talking and worked out together. That night I purchased two of @meganfreeman_ programs. Annaliese and I held each other accountable. We gave ourselves grace. Went on vacations. We showed up even when we didn’t want to. Last week we completed our first program. It’s amazing what 6 weeks of dedication to a workout will do: more energy, better sleep, muscle gain, increased appetite, better mood, clearer mind, more productive, and the list goes on. I am so thankful for the gym to be a part of my life again. Seeing the side by side comparisons of the workouts is incredible. Praying this is just the beginning of me becoming the best version of myself. I’m not the college athlete I once was. Now, I’m a wife and mom. Becca 2.0 by @beccabrousseau19

Life is hard. Pursuing God can be hard. Living like Jesus did is hard. Being a parent hard. It takes a lot from a person mentally, physically, and emotionally. Leading your children to have a relationship with God, pursuing God, and to be a good person like Jesus is the hardest work I’ve ever done. However, it’s moments like this when I realize I am doing something right. This is the most requested song in our house. It may not be your traditional church music, but it has made an impression on my kids. Your journey with God doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s. Your journey is between you and God. Keep doing whatever feels right to you. Your children are watching!

In August 2023, I reached out to @mkdeckerdesigns to do a commission piece for Ella’s room. We spoke about what I was envisioning and trusted her to make my idea come to life. When I saw the first picture of it completed, I was in awe of her amazing talent. She posted the painting in her story and asked for recommendations of what to name it. I didn’t submit an answer because I wanted to see what others thought. When I saw the final decision to name the piece “Promises,” I immediately felt overwhelmed with emotion. MK painted this without knowing my story. A total stranger named it without knowing who the owner of the piece was. This painting was created by a beautiful woman who is an amazing artist and believer in Christ. God used MK’s talent to create this beautiful artwork specifically for our miracle baby who was promised to us by God. We recently transformed Ella’s room from a nursery to a big girl room. Every year on Sept 13, PopPop gets to celebrate his birthday with the family caboose. Ella loves her PopPop more than anybody else in the world. Their bond is unmatched. We love you, PopPop! by @beccabrousseau19

Two years! This past year has been the most fun year of my life. Ella brings so much joy into our lives. Year two included a lot of pizza, laughs, snacks, sweet tea, boat naps, sass, jumping off of things, singing, dancing, gummy bears, adventures, and attitude. Brousseau 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt! We had an absolute blast yesterday. Thankful for a few hours of no rain so the kids could put on their rain boots and have some fun. Liam and Ryan’s second annual ski trip to NY. Liam might live in MS but he walks around @catamountmtnresort like he owns the place 🤣 I guess it’s true that Brousseau blood runs deep there. Liam had a blast visiting family, making everyone laugh at his southern accent, and making core memories! Ella and I had lots of quality time together. It’s so special to get one on one time with your kids. They grow up too fast! Can’t wait until next year when boys’ annual ski trip turns into Brousseau annual ski trip. Everyone meet Poppy! She came into our lives when we least expected it. Some days I feel like Sully sent her to help heal our hearts. This past month she has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives. The amount of times I have said, “she is just like Sully” is mind blowing. Nobody will ever fill the space that Sully occupies in our minds and hearts, but Poppy sure does make life happier. As Liam says, “we miss Sully. Sully is in heaven with God and baby Jesus. My heart is broken. But we have Poppy. Poppy is in our family. Poppy makes us happy.” He says this almost every day. It brings tears to my eyes how much he talks about Sully. Four years old. The first year seemed so long. Now, this past year has flown by. I am amazed at how much you have grown over this year. You wear your heart on your sleeve. You get dirty. You’re loud and rowdy. You’re tough and stubborn. But you love big. You are the best big brother, a great friend, and the perfect son. I cannot wait to see what year 5 has in store. One week without Sully. I feel like my world has stopped, but everything around me keeps moving. Last Monday, we had to make the tough decision to put Sully to rest. To say Sully lived an amazing life would be the understatement of the century. Sully traveled the United States. He flew more than most people do in a lifetime. He partied hard at bars when we were younger. He welcomed Ryan into our lives, even though he hesitated at first. He loved his brothers and sister, but he tried to hide it. He was the ruler of our house and did not try to hide that. Sully was my world. As my world grew, he adjusted to our new lives. However, at the end of the every day, Sully had to have his alone time with his mama. Saturday we celebrated his 11th birthday and first heavenly birthday. Our lives are forever changed.
