So, a potential client lands on your site after looking at 4 other [what you do] and… they leave.

Because they just read damn near the same thing on the other people’s websites.

I have been talking about personality since I started this business. It’s literally what makes you stand out.

And, look, if I wasn’t afraid to hurt your feelings I’d say: EVERYONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT CLIENT EXPERIENCE. Or they’re gonna say they do.

So, what actually makes you different???

Who YOU are.

People ultimately hire you because 1) your skills and 2) your personality.

By the time they inquire they’ve probably vetted other people (by looking at their website / social media) and said, “this person seems cool and different and they seem to do what I need help with, I should book a call with them.”

Then on the call, they want their questions answered (process / price), but they want to make sure YOU are a good fit for THEM. (read: they wanna like you)

And they can’t tell when your entire personality is now crafted by a robot, so they’re not gonna reach out (…maybe why business is slower?)

Your personality, your brain, your quirkiness is what people want. It’s what they CRAVE.

Think about the accounts you *still* engage with, why do you do it?

Probably not because they have ChatGPT captions.

So if you’ve been struggling to feel connected to your business, other business owners, or the reverse (aka your biz has slowed down because people aren’t engaging with you), ask yourself: is ChatGPT becoming too big of a part of my day to day?

And listen, I’m not perfect, I’ve been guilty of it too, but lately as I’ve been evaluating “what changed? And what can I do to love this business fully again?” It all comes down to missing CONNECTION and seeing somewhat messy and imperfect human captions and ideas.

I don’t like polished. At all, so the accounts I still like are the ones sharing human takes, and that’s exactly what I intend to do as I get back into creating content I enjoy.

The cliff notes version ⬇️

I’ll always encourage you to be a little unfiltered, a little emotional, and a little too much.

Because you’re so much more than generic, vague, “I did it because everyone else is.”

I wanna see the in-between moments, the messy thoughts, and the things that make you YOU.

For me that’s my love of reading indie smut books, giving a shit about humans, my dogs, my life in the mountains with my husband, snowboarding, mgk and emo boy bands, continuing to step more and more into me publicly and online, sharing my dreams of having a farm and writing books and chasing everything I think I want.

Frankly, boring is bad for business & I know you’re not boring so embrace your weird. (I wanna see it.)

I’m glad you’re here 🖤 by @beccamitchellcopy

“Who do you write for?” Quite literally any COOL service-based business!!

Whenever I have a client come to me from a new industry I get so stoked because it’s a completely new challenge, but I’ve worked with so many incredible businesses over the years like:

- photographers
- designers (interior, website)
- paint color consultant
- construction
- executive & career & non-fiction publishing coaches
- ads managers
- course creators
- trash bin cleaning company
- universities
- florists and wedding pros/venues
- influencers
- real estate pros
- eyewear company
- travel firms
- clothing brands
- tattoo & piercing shop 🤫
- finance pros & bookkeepers
- systems pros & ops
- wellness & beauty / salons
- artists
- social media managers

AND SO MANY MORE!! My favorite part of my business is learning new industries, new approaches, and helping you find the words that make you say “holy shit this is so good! I’d pay me!” by @beccamitchellcopy

It’s been 6 weeks since I publicly set a goal to hit $100k in new revenue by the end of the year as a DFY copywriter 💸💸💸

I also found myself fall into the classic “I got busy so I stopped showing up” marketing trap that so many of us fall into (which is why this is also late, oops!) So this is a week 5 & 6 update which I brought in $3951, making the challenge total just over $17k in NEW revenue (aka I’m not counting any clients on payment plans that I’d already banked on receiving.)

As someone who is strictly a DFY service pro, it can be really easy to compare yourself to someone who is selling courses or programs and making 6, multiple 6, and even 7 figures from launching. But being able to sign your own paychecks is really freaking cool & kind of the whole point which is what I’m reminding myself even if my numbers aren’t currently on track👏👏👏

And a HUGE shoutout to all my clients who’ve come back for updated copy & friends who’ve sent referrals my way. Thank you endlessly 🫶🫶🫶

If you need copy, I’m currently booking early October!

The inspo site did EXACTLY what it was supposed to: attracted one person & turned off another.

Because as the saying goes: when you speak to everyone you’re speaking to no one — and you simply can’t afford that in 2026!!

When you write messaging designed to repel no one by being uniquely and fully you, you end up saying nothing at all. And the people who would have loved to work with you scroll right past, because there was nothing there to grab onto.

Your messaging isn’t supposed to attract the masses.

It’s supposed to make the right person stop and go “finally, someone gets it.”

So the next time someone doesn’t love your site, ask one question first: were they ever going to be your client?

Week 4 update on my journey to making $100k in new revenue by the end of the year 💚

Honestly my past clients & community here have been SHOWING UP!! All the new income I’ve made has come directly from referrals or past clients who are returning for more work and that means the world to me. Can’t wait to see what else I’ll get to create the rest of this year 🎉

If you need copy before the end of the year, let’s talk! by @beccamitchellcopy

Setting a goal publicly = not only sharing the good weeks but also the slow ones.

Week 3 update on my journey to $100k in new revenue is here (even if I hate sharing it).

As someone who chooses to sell services only, payment plans are huge for me to build a steady baseline income every month. So while I didn’t make any NEW revenue last week, I did make money from payment plans!

If you’re considering working with me, I offer flexible, interest-free monthly payments for your copywriting needs.

Have a project you’d like to get done by the end of the year - a new website, a Black Friday sales page, an email sequence, etc? Send me a DM! by @beccamitchellcopy

Two weeks down, 18 weeks to go toward my $100k goal as a DFY service provider 🔥

Your social presence should match your website, because the second someone feels a connection to you, they’re going one of two places….

1. Your bio
2. Your DMs

They’re searching for credibility, consistency, and how to work with you.

An overly polished site with a super personable feed reads like a red flag (even if they can’t name why).

Let’s nail down your messaging and make sure “is this person who they say they are” is an unmistakable “yes!” by @beccamitchellcopy
