POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Growing up in Gallup, New Mexico, where water was scarce, I’ve been fortunate to have paddling as a part of my life. As Diné people, we hold water in high regard, believing it possesses the power to bless, cleanse, and heal. This deep connection to water fuels my passion for paddling, transforming it into more than just a sport, but a profound connection to our Mother Earth. On this Indigenous Peoples Day, I want to express my gratitude and honor the rich heritage and resilience of those Indigenous who have shared canoe culture with the world. Happy Indigenous Peoples Day! 🪶💙✊🏽

It’s been almost a week since the 2026 Singapore IVF Va’a World Sprints Championships concluded. I’m filled with gratitude and awe after racing in Singapore. Representing Team USA, particularly the Pacific Northwest, at the world sprints was an incredible privilege. I had a smashing time paddling with Cascadia Va’a 🤙🏾 We made it to the semi-finals for the 1500m and gave it our all, showcasing our Northwest grit and spirit. Small tidbit - on our first 1500m race my paddling handle broke and I had to do half of the race without a top handle 🫨 We faced the world’s best paddlers, and despite not securing a podium, this experience will fuel us for the next two years. BTW I’m also in love with Singapore 💘
