Happy Birthday to Gene Autry , one of my favorite icons and artists 🇺🇸 Born in Texas in 1907 as Orvon Grover Autry, became one of the most important figures in history of country and western music, shaping an image of American cowboy hero 🤠

He was an actor, musician and rodeo performer , often called “Singing Cowboy”.

He helped bring Western music to a nationwide audience through his films, radio and television appearances. He is known for his crooning voice (a gentle, warm, smooth intimate style of singing).

Here’ “Take me back to my boots and saddle” a classic western song :
