To those of you who are new here, WELCOME! My guess is that you enjoy snowmen and that you are interested in painting your own to share warm winter wishes with friends and loved ones. A year ago I created a tutorial and accompanying timelapse video demonstrating the basic techniques you would need to paint one. As it happens, when we practice over time our styles and techniques evolve, so I’ve updated the photos on my tutorial to reflect my current style of these charming winter friends.

I hope you’ll feel encouraged to pick up a paintbrush and paint snowmen with me again this year. To those of you who shared your photos with me, thank you! To see you bringing my little lesson into your homes and classrooms filled my heart with joy - it was such a gift! 💛

This demonstration has been created in real time and you can find the written and photo tutorial on my website: beckandrose.com

One final thought: share your work with friends and loved ones. Spend an afternoon painting cards with children so that they may share it with their teachers and friends. Create joy, send it out into the world, and be the reason someone smiles today.

SUPPLIES USED:
Arches cold pressed watercolor paper

“THE SOCKS AMERICA WEARS TO WORK”

The socks used to make this friend were manufactured over 40 years ago by Nelson Knitting Company. While red heel socks are still manufactured today by Fox River Mills, the design and fiber content have changed over time. One thing I love about socks made by Nelson Knitting Company is the point of the De-Tec-Tip heel offering the monkey its unique upturned smile.

After two years I’ve finally added a new painting to my Corvid Watercolor Mosaic series. Of course it features a stack of pumpkins. 🧡💛💚 These cards are available as a set of 5 - one print of each painting. You know where you can find them along with lots of other gifts for giving… or keeping for yourself! 🐦‍⬛

I’m really enjoying my time with this mischief of mice and I hope you are, too! I often miss my boys being so little and in a way this allows me to continue to celebrate the innocence and imagination of childhood.

These original watercolor bookmarks are available on my website. 🍂 (link in bio)
