❤️ What a week it’s been… If ever there was a reminder of just how precious life, our health and our families are, this week has certainly been one. We called 111 late on Tuesday evening for our youngest son Tom who had a high temperature and just didn’t seem right. We were asked to come straight in to A&E and he was instantly given morphine and multiple blood tests, with potentially suspected meningitis. With an intravenous drip and antibiotics. X-rays, brain scans and a lumbar puncture to find the cause of the problem. Thankfully, we have had the wonderful news that Tom is in the clear. The relief and gratitude we feel are beyond words. We cannot thank the incredible NHS and all the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Torbay Hospital enough. Their kindness, compassion and exceptional care has been phenomenal. We are so lucky to have them. 💚 And to everyone who has sent love, prayers, healing energy and kind thoughts… THANK YOU. We have felt every bit of it. Through it all, he has been unbelievably strong and brave, with a beautiful faith that has carried him and us through. 🙏❤️ ❤️ One thing I would really love to share is the importance of meningitis awareness, especially among young people. Meningitis can develop incredibly quickly, and its early symptoms can easily be mistaken for flu or another virus. Please check that you and your young people are up to date with their meningitis vaccinations, particularly the MenACWY vaccine, which is routinely offered to teenagers and can be caught up on through the NHS up to age 25. Vaccines offer important protection, although they don’t prevent every type of meningitis, so knowing the symptoms is just as important. If sharing our experience encourages even one family to check their vaccinations or recognise the warning signs, then something positive has come from a very frightening week. It just makes you realize how precious our children, family and friends are Hold your loved ones close, treasure your health and never take a single day for granted. 💕💕💕 So much love and gratitude. ❤️🙏 #loveyoutom by @beckybettesworth
Some collaborations just mean a little bit more 🤍 I’ve had the absolute joy of being involved in the process of bringing @beckybettesworth new Soulscapes workshops to life, and I couldn’t be prouder of what she’s creating. Becky is not only an incredibly talented local artist, but one of my really good friends, which makes being part of this journey even more special ✨ Soulscapes is all about making space for yourself, getting creative and allowing yourself to slow down a little in a world that rarely stops. There’s something really special about creating something with your hands, giving yourself permission to switch off and just be. I’ve loved helping Becky shape these workshops, and I can’t wait for you to experience what she has planned 🌊 A little reminder that creativity doesn’t have to be about being good at art. Sometimes, it’s simply about how it makes you feel…but let me tell you the artwork you create is INSANE!!! Follow along for part two and keep your eyes peeled for more on Soulscapes… 🎨🤍 #personalised Soulscapes #supportlocalartistsfirst by @beckybettesworth
I came across this old photo when looking through a family album from the early 80s and this really made me smile. I was so chuffed as I won an art prize and I was very excited to be given a prize by the local mayor (I think it was an etch a sketch, do you remember those?!) I loved my primary school and my art teacher too, I must have been about 9 I think! Arhhh happy days, art has always been my everything x #beckybettesworth #artist #dreamofbringanartist by @beckybettesworth

Yesterday’s workshop was a little piece of paradise down by the sea… 💙🌊🎨🐚💫 The most exquisitely beautiful souls and creations came from our nourishing Heart box experience at the Cary Arms. We met, wandered down to the beach, beachcombed for shells, driftwood and little treasures, then spent the afternoon creating. Aligning heart and mind and connecting with this blissful magic. Sealed it all in resin, and was a gentler reminder to connect to ourselves, each other and this heart felt magic. Each Heart box was then sealed in resin, capturing not only those little treasures, but a moment, a feeling and a memory. 💙🌊🎨🐚💫 Come and create your own beautiful Heart box with me. New dates at my Dartington studio will be announced soon, or join me at the Cary Arms on Saturday 7th November.
