Somewhat of a wip for the #monochromeartprompt hosted by @katiegirlcreates 😬

In 1999 I would wait for Radio Disney to play “Blue” by Eiffel 65 so I could record it on a cassette 😂

So for the prompt this year I chose to stitch an outline of a blue corvette and I’m considering adding the lyrics above it

With a blue little window”

Today is the #gamecube25artcollab 🌟 and I picked the infamous Rainbow Road from Mario Kart: Double Dash! 🌈 🏎️

I thought this wooden board with a preinstalled light would be perfect to illuminate the racetrack, and decided to add a cross stitched Lakitu fishing up Yoshi after he fell off 😅

Welcome to the #classicyoutubecollab 🤩

It’s hard to believe most of the videos featured in today’s projects came out about 20 years ago 🫣 the nostalgia is real

As impossible as it felt to pick which video to base my piece on, I decided on the shirt from “Let Me Borrow That Top” by Liam Kyle Sullivan
The stitch I had in mind was long and short but I think it turned into a mix of whatever I felt in the moment 😅

Now that my #visionboardsecretswap has arrived I can share what I made for the person whose name I drew, @oliveethehobbies 🤩 🇨🇦 🍁 she had a very prominent fall theme, and I also took notice of the love of “Mean Girls,” so I made

✨ A wall hanging featuring fall motifs embroidered on fabric leaves

✨ A fall inspired painting of a scene from “Mean Girls”

✨ An embroidery hoop of an iconic quote from “Mean Girls” to add a lil Christmas magic 🎄

I had so much fun making these projects! Thank you @extramozzarella_art for helping me narrow down what I wanted to do 😅 and our other organizers, @willowandthreadembroidery and @craftierbythegarden for pulling this whole thing together 🙏🏻

This year I was thrilled to participate in the #visionboardsecretswap 🤩

We drew names and created a piece based on our person’s vision board they put together based on some of their favorite things
The person who created mine was @musicalpoem and she ran with my love of pokemon and sailor moon 🌙
She made a punch needle piece of the sailor moon locket, and a cross stitched piece of a pokemon trainer card which was so sweet since she was in the first collab I hosted (Pokemon Starters) back in March 🥹
I love the texture of the punch needle piece, and the pink background choice and beads of the cross stitched piece! 😍

A big thank you as well to @willowandthreadembroidery for creating the spreadsheets, @craftierbythegarden for nailing down the dates, and @extramozzarella_art for organizing the name drawing and checking in to get me on track 😅

Today is the start of the #birthyearmoviecollab

There were so many good movies to choose from for my year (1988) but I picked the iconic Jessica Rabbit from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” 😍
