I’m back on WJZ talking about one of my favorite materials to work with, Libyan Desert Glass, a natural glass formed nearly 30 million years ago and even used in King Tut’s jewelry.

I’m still trying to find the words.
Become Spellbound has officially been named Baltimore Magazine’s Best of Baltimore 2026 Best Jeweler.

This recognition means more than I can say, especially because it was voted on by the Baltimore community.

The funny part? I found out right after leaving the dentist with half my face still numb. I sat in my car and cried happy tears while a random ‘90s playlist kept playing. Then Jennifer Lopez’s “Waiting for Tonight” came on, and I couldn’t help but laugh through the tears. It was the most unexpectedly perfect soundtrack to a moment I’d been daydreaming about for years.

Thank you to everyone who voted, collected a piece, stopped by an art market, shared my work, or simply followed along. You’ve helped shape Become Spellbound into what it is today.

👻Tell me you would absolutely follow this witch to her treasure chest without telling me. 🖤
Because just LOOK at these little treasures...

A tiny ghost carved from sparkling aura chalcedony, deep green malachite, blue kyanite, pink zircon, raw ruby, amethyst and more, and a ridiculously cool Cadillac Ranch Fordite that I cut myself, paired with a ruby stack and a quartz crystal doublet with a cherry on top of faceted gemmy pink tourmaline.

I’ve been working on a new batch of one-of-a-kind talismans, and I’m hoping to get these listed in the shop soon. Every piece has its own personality, its own strange little magic, and its own combination of stones and materials.

I made this Halloween costume in ONE DAY with a random piece of fabric I’d been hoarding, craft store supplies, hot glue, and absolutely no plan. 😂

Yes, those are leggings and a tutu. Yes, I almost set my basement on fire. But hey- I made giant pushpins out of wooden dowels and craft store balls and somehow figured out how to get this stuff to all stay in place...

The result? A giant human voodoo doll. 🪡

Honestly, I think she turned out pretty damn good for a single day of chaotic basement witchcraft.

BUT NOW I NEED TO KNOW… what’s your costume plan for Halloween?

Thought I'd share the skull talisman and ”crowned skulls” tie I wore for the “gothfellas” themed wedding I officiated last week. If only so I can namecheck the work of Spellbound, who made both this talisman and the bloodstone pendant I usually wear when doing weddings.

Some days, running a creative business is genuinely hard.

The algorithm is frustrating. Visibility can feel impossible. And there are definitely days when I’d rather be creating than doing all the tedious little things that come with actually running a business.

But then I remember…

I get to make strange, beautiful things for a living. I get to work with crystals, fossils, ancient materials and natural treasures and turn them into one-of-a-kind talismans for YOU.

And honestly, I feel incredibly lucky.

Thank you to every person who has followed along, shared my work, bought a piece, sent a kind message, or simply stopped to look at what I’ve made. Your support over the years means more to me than I can really put into words.

I hope these strange little treasures bring more love, joy, creativity, wonder and unending magic into the world… and into the lives of the people who wear them.

What if I told you this strange little piece of layered automotive paint could become something that looks like it came from another world?

This is Fordite, a material formed from layers of automotive paint that built up over time in old car painting facilities. And hidden inside those layers is something pretty incredible.

I cut it open, revealing these wild black and white stripes, then shaped and polished it into a one-of-a-kind freeform cabochon with flashes of metallic silver.

Now I’m curious… what does it look like to you?

I wanted to make a piece that felt like something for a unicorn, so I started with an enormous opalescent amethyst and crowned it with pink zircon, raw rubies and moonstones. And those zircon crystal? Throws beams of light like tiny prisms.
