As they say in the business...🔔 Cover, reveal klaxon 🔔Before the official bit, can I just say that I'm SO pleased with the cover for my fourth book, The Edge of Always. Isn't it gorgeous? Hasn't India smashed it? The Edge of Always is out next August, but it's available for pre-order. Girl maths is that if you pre-order it now, actually paying for it is a 2026 problem. And 2026 you will have all of your financial ducks in a row (that auto translated to dicks - so may 2026 you also have your dicks in a row). I'm so proud of Luna and Emmett and their story, which is my most challenging for sure. There's dual timelines, first AND third person, second chance romance, it's super emotional, quite sexy and it's half set in Paris. 💫 Book news! The Next Chapter- coming July! 💫All book deals are special, but I feel SO fortunate to have *this* book deal. Not just because I'm absolutely thrilled to be publishing two more books with @simonandschusteruk, though that is absolutely the case. I'm rarely asleep long enough to muster a proper dream, but if I were, I'm sure this would feature. Along with a spa day, and crisps, and being completely temperate at all times... but I digress. And I'm super happy not just because I'm excited for readers to meet Lily. She's a bit of a neurotic mess, especially since her family keeps up and dying - which is just rude. I've no idea why because I obviously have my shit so entirely together, but Lily came to me so clearly and so easily. She's my favourite protagonist to date. But mostly, I'm so incredibly grateful because I got this deal at a time when I really needed a win. I had just finished a draft of Lily's story when my husband left in 2023. I felt so lost. I felt like I'd be forever defined by being a single mum. But when I got this deal, I didn't feel like that anymore. I felt like someone who had a contract for two more books! I felt more than ever like a proper author. And I felt determined to continue to write stories about the lives of women in all their technicolour luminosity. Less than 1% of authors are single mums, but I'm still here, and I'm so grateful to my editor @mollycrawford and my agent Mads for that. Thank you for getting it. And I'm grateful to everyone who reads my books, leaves a review, or messages me on this here ap. You probably don't even know how much you've propped me up over the past two years. More plot details to follow but, if you would like to read a story written by an author who is a bit of a mess, about a woman who is a bit of a mess, than you can pre-order wherever you buy books. For publication eve, I'll mainly be locked in the study hyperventilating. But before I do that, I did want to share a little bit behind the inspiration for My (extra) Ordinary Life. I've said before that it took me over 20 years to write this story. I first had the idea watching a medical TV documentary series when I was about 12. It was all about human averages and in my peak science phase I was really into it. But I remember thinking that while you can reduce a human life to facts and statistics, there's a whole lot more going on than that. Today, most of us have a level of education that our ancestors couldn't have even dreamed of. We're told that if we strive for it, we can do and be whatever we want. Which is great, but it comes with a fair dose of pressure. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-strive. I think in lots of ways, we should strive. We are the biggest advocate for our own lives and we should care deeply about building a life we're happy with (most of the time. No one is happy 24/7). But I know that I've definitely got caught up striving for stuff that doesn't really matter. Or that doesn't really matter to me.So I wanted to write about someone ordinary trying to figure out what matters to her. Despite being the most ordinary person on the planet. Because I want my kids to strive for what matters to them. And to know that I really, truly believe that an ordinary life lived well is a pretty amazing thing. by @becsryanauthor

Wow, would you look at that! My (extra) Ordinary Life is 99p for the whole of May! My first book baby and written at a time when I was still striving something intangible (must keep striving, must keep striving). This book will always have a special place in my heart.
