We say “Thank God It’s Friday” because for many, the week feels like survival. Monday through Thursday is often a cycle of waking up early, commuting, clocking in, tolerating stressful work environments, and pushing through roles that do not align with our passions or purpose.

For some, especially immigrants or people in transition, these jobs are not optional. They are necessary stepping stones. So when Friday arrives, it symbolizes relief. A pause. A moment to breathe. It is less about celebration and more about recovery.
But here is the deeper question. What if we are building a life we constantly need to escape from? What if the goal is not just surviving until the weekend?

Happiness is not always about changing your circumstances. Sometimes it is about changing your perspective. If you cannot leave a situation yet, can you shift how you experience it? Can you learn to love the process, even if it is not perfect?
What if happiness is not found in escape, but in acceptance? Are we surviving the week or learning to love the life we are in?
