My book was accepted into the Rochester Public Library’s 2026 International Art of the Book and Paper Exhibition! The exhibition is up from October 5th to December 31st at 115 South Ave, Rochester New York.

I can’t hand deliver it, so I had to make sure my packaging was secure. But before I wrapped it up, I gave it an inspection 🧐 to make sure it was good to go. I had to customize the box 📦 to fit my needs. I’m happy with the results, and the mail fairies 🧚‍♀️ helped it arrive!

If you want to see what the book looks like, visit my website anabedolla.com, or click the link in my bio.
But, if you live close to the library go see it in person!

I’ve been working on this book for a while, but it’s still far from complete. It requires a lot of math and research to make all the parts work.

The idea is, that when it’s done, it will mimic the circadian rhythm of a flower 🌼 (when they open in the morning and close at night). We’ll see how this turns out!

About a year ago I had a dream where I was sitting in bed and a trail of ants walked from one end of the bed to another.

At the foot of the bed, there was an older woman, grey hair and braids. I looked up at her and she said, “ants are your ancestors”.

A year later, I made this book. I also wrote this poem/song that goes along with the book. It’s playful and the beat “marches” with the sounds I remember hearing when I had that dream.

La Hormiga

La hormiga camina y camina
La hormiga camina y camina con su amiga
La hormiga camina y camina con su amiga en una fila
La hormiga camina y camina con su amiga en una fila feliz de la vida

“Dejemos al Menos Flores”

This book is inspired by a phrase in a poem by Nezahualcóyotl.

¿Nada dejaré en pos de mí sobre la tierra?

¿Cómo ha de actuar mi corazón?

¿Acaso en vano venimos a vivir,
a brotar sobre la tierra?

Dejemos al menos flores,
Dejemos al menos cantos. taken in Oakland, California by @bedollana
