Another journal done and it's a relief. You know how some books just flow... this one didn't at all. I didn't know what i wanted to do in it, it kind of sat on the side, only being picked up when all the other books were wet. Although looking through it now to take photo's it's actually quite reflective of my state of mind the last 6 months, a chaotic mess, a jumble of emotions , sadness and some days despair. Mental health and physical health are having a tough year. I used to think my journals saved me, now I think they support me and give me a place to express the torture that my brain puts me through. It's complicated up there, but it would probably be lots worse without my books, pens and paints, not only as a creative outlet but as a distraction, a focus and a place to escape to 💜

100 days of Eyes complete! I'm so relieved 😂 I had over 2 weeks of not being able to create after my back locked following my birthday trip to London 😭 So the last couple of weeks I racked up the hours to get it finished on time. I am so happy with my book, I like a high percentage of the pages and it was a fun project to explore. I'm now looking forward to giving the eyes a rest and myself some time to play in my books without any limitations.
Congratulations to everyone who completed the project 🥳 I met some fabulous new people to follow along our 100 day journey 💜

I have so much fun and excitement in the last 2 months of every year planning books to start on 1st January. I'm so optimistic and hopeful of a good art year but it never goes to plan and it's frustrating for a couple of months as I try to figure out what is wrong and little art is made. Finally, here we are in April and the flow is back. I have everything working smoothly with apparently 17 books required to tick every box of what I need to function and create 😂

Yellow was my favourite colour for years. I remember in my early 20s painting a bedroom in London in a hot yellow which I regretted every morning when I woke up and was dazzled by it's neon brightness 💛
