what this week 🗓️

📖 Memoir May is in full effect. These are the three currently on the go. I’m worried I’m going to have empathy overload by June so send me all your lighthearted recs.

🎵 hyperfixated on The Great Divide. Willing and Able, Dan and End of August are my top three but the entire album is a soul destroyer.

📺 aside from the weekly survivor episode (can we talk about last weeks episode 🤯) there’s not really anything I’m currently binging. My bf and I just finished Temptation Island (dumpster fire goodness) and The Last One Laughing UK (hilarious). what shows are you binging lately?

hi! I’m back.

bookstagram has been a refuge for me from my own brain for the past couple years. I’ve been struggling to post since July. colour me ✨ uninspired ✨ but I just couldn’t do it. I’ve still been here, lurking in the background and chatting to all my favourite humans and reading and sharing. so here I am, trying to get back into the posting game. a classic stack of books I am hopeful to read in 2026.

annnnd that’s a wrap on July, a very heavy non fiction month. this was my first break from “monthly muse” all year and apparently I made a beeline for the memoirs. also had to get in we were liars, because I am dying to watch the show after all the hype.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

ughhhhhhhhh Jessa Hastings writing demolishes my soul and keeps me coming back for more. Georgia was such a complex character and has been through some S H I T. Jessa has a way of writing such flawed and unique characters that can’t help but make you love them. I loved being in Georgia’s brain and I loved the different relationships she had with all the characters in the book (ok minus a couple)

If you love Magnolia Parks, pick this one up. If you want to try Jessa’s writing style without committing to a series quite yet, pick this one up.

damn, I love a good memoir. I especially love a memoir that I go in blind to and know nothing about the person. I know the basic and essentials with American politics, I’ll be honest. So it doesn’t surprise me that Kathleen’s life with Hunter Biden fell off my radar. But this isn’t a book about politics, it’s a book about resilience. It’s honest and raw and Kathleen did a great job at not tearing this man to shreds because wowowow he’s ✨ trash ✨

highly recommend to all my memoir loving friends out there. thanks for buddy reading this with me @theyegbibliophile @jodifriday

Tanya is kind, supportive, loves supporting her library, has great taste in books, loves a good buddy read, keeps me laughing in group chats and is a great friend ♥️ I always love to reflect on how out of all the people in the world, I ended up in the same corner of the internet with some of these people and how grateful I am for it.

easy, peasy, five stars. and if you have the ability: listen to this one in audiobook format. if you know me, you know I’m a sucker for a strong old woman/grandma character so it is no wonder I enjoyed this one so much. Tova was such a loving and heartwarming character. Marcellus is the reason I’m recommending the audiobook, it really just elevated his already amazing character. This book really just encapsulated friendship and all its forms in a really beautiful way and I loved it so much. really looking forward to how this one translates into a movie as it just wrapped production.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

some light, cheery peonies for a dark, wild book. I went into this blind (which I recommend) but also with the safety net of @readingwiththechoob recommendation so I knew this was going to work out well. this was dark and I would suggest checking trigger warnings before you pick it up. If you do end up picking it up, you’re in for a R I D E. I loooved reading the complex thoughts of Sally. I felt they were incredibly deep and profound at times but also hilariously simple and straight to the point. The only downside I had is that it all felt a like rushed at the end and the conclusion wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for. But I couldn’t put this down and that’s the best kind of book.
