The man Martin Luther King said gave Black people a mass sense of “dignity and destiny”
The Pioneer of this Black Power Movement.

I don’t want to make this long because if you know me you know much I love and admire this Leo man and how my heart aches knowing his ending in this rough place… 🌍

Marcus life shows us that there is no limitations on what black existence looks like, feels like and is. His life shows us that your own people can turn on you in a flash due to envy and misunderstanding. ( Personally what I feel keeps a lot of people/ families in discord.) His life shows us strength and resilience! His life shows us courage; the man was a Leo.

Even MalcomX has ties with Marcus; his mother and father practiced graveyism…

Mr.Hoovers first real victim and what the rest of his career was built off of…

I will forever talk about the man who gave black people all over the world a sense of self, integrity, and wonder…

A true scholar and activist; the man lived from August 17, 1887 till June 10, 1940. In the earlier stages of Jim Crow…. Let that sink in…

Just thank you god for sending yet another prophet, Mosiah, to be the light we needed to see more clearly ✨

Lawyer turned Prime Minister of Grenada 🇬🇩
I find it interesting that people only acknowledge Jesus as God’s true son….

I feel as through when men are born into this world with the will power to go against society that’s just god sending another son to shake the room. Maurice was one of gods sons that was assassinated by people of power because he was a seeker of independence for his own country.

This man turned the 35% illiteracy of his country people to 5% in just a few years with free education! Knowledge is wealth and he understood that. He understood that independence of the oppressors was the ONLY WAY.

I feel that men like Maurice Bishop in the Caribbean make way for the Mia Mottley’s of today.

Thank you Maurice for giving yourself to the people. Thank you for creating possibility

Definitely one of my favorite months of the year ❤️🖤💚

This is Edmonia Lewis; also known as “Wildfire”✨

From Upstate New York; African American with native roots (and possibly Caribbean roots 👀) to America as well. She was the first black artist to gain recognition for her sculpture work national and internationally. Which is actually amazing 🤷🏽‍♀️

She was born in 1844 y’all…..
The emancipation proclamation was declared in 1863; just a little perspective.
She was living and thriving as an artist during a time when people of color were treated like dogs. She of course had her moments in her life and her career that had been tested by the reality of the times…but she still shined.✨

She still prevailed. She was luminous enough to have an effect. She lit up rooms with her presence. She was in an obvious sense bold and fearless enough to not be held bondage by the society that she came from and lived in. She moved to Europe and became known and respected for her work. I love when we travel and gain perspective it’s like you trigger or unlock new sight…but i digress.

I’m sharing with you all a few stars I’ve learned about recently and luminous people that I whole heartedly admire and respect in this season of blackness. ✨✨✨✨

“One of my students once asked me to explain the ‘darkness before the dawn.’ I referred in a preceding chapter to the fact that often, before the big demonstration ‘everything seems to go wrong,’ and deep depression clouds the consciousness. It means that out of the subconscious are rising the doubts and fears of the ages. These old derelicts of the subconscious rise to the surface, to be put out.
It is then, that man should clap his cymbals, like Jehoshaphat, and give thanks that he is saved, even though he seems surrounded by the enemy (the situation of lack or disease). The student continued, ‘How long must one remain in the dark’ and I replied, ‘until one can see in the dark,’ and ‘casting the burden enables one to see in the dark.’ In order to impress the subconscious, active faith is always essential.
‘Faith without works is dead.’ In these chapters I have endeavored to bring out this point.
Jesus Christ showed active faith when ‘He commanded the muli-tude to sit down on the ground,’ before he gave thanks for the loaves and the fishes.”
