Ten years ago tomorrow I finally said yes to you. We somehow knew that the moment we’d finally given one another a chance there would be absolutely no turning back. Our lives would forever be changed. A whole decade of choosing each other on the loud, beautiful days and the quiet, hard ones too.

You have been my constant, my safe place, my biggest supporter and my favorite person to laugh with. We’ve grown in so many ways, learned many hard lessons and built a life that I’m endlessly proud of.

Thank you for loving me gently and fiercely, for the way you hold my hand and kiss my shoulder. Thank you for never leaving the house without saying “I love you, Brittany Ann’ no matter how frustrated you may be. Thank you for showing up when it’s hard. Thank you for choosing me over your own trials and tribulations and facing some of your darkest demons so that we could continue to flourish. Thank you for the three most beautiful children that somehow have the absolutely perfect mix of us both.

Thank you for teaching me that it’s okay to be my true self. Thank you for your stability. Patience. Love.
