๐Ÿ’ Iโ€™m ALL IN when it comes to a painfully shy man. Make him a hockey player, and I'm done for. I think Conrad may be the shyest MMC I've read yet. I found Conrad social awkwardness endearing, and I wanted to throttle the mean girls whose cruelty left him uncomfortable talking with women. He comes off as reserved and uninterested, even when he's not. He almost blows it with Whitney. Well quite honestly, he did, but his boys have his back and push him to keep trying. I love his and Whitney's dynamic, and to think what they would have missed out on if Whitney hadnโ€™t given him another chance. While Conrad may have limited experience with women, he quickly found his footing with the more intimate side of his relationship with Whitney. Verbal communication took time, effort, and patience on Whitney's part, but the outcomeโ€”worth it. Watching their connection grow into something strong and unbreakable was such a treat, even when it was put to the ultimate test by Whitney's brother, who was also Conrad's biggest rival. ๐Ÿˆ ๐†๐š๐ฆ๐ž ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ ๐Ÿˆ I wondered how @authoradrianalocke would get Poppy and Finn from friends-with-benefits to more, especially with Poppy's anti-relationship stance. It's no surprise that she executed it spectacularly. Poppy's sassy and stubborn, and Finn fed into it, supporting her no matter what. Finn was her constant, the person she could trust in the middle of a storm. However, she wasn't ready to admit that to herself, let alone him. Finn wanted Poppy in his daily life, but when he tried convincing her to take their friends-with-benefits relationship to the next level, she balked and put firm boundaries in place. That was such a Poppy move. She didnโ€™t expect what Finn would do next. Because that man was in it to win it, and the prize was Poppy in his life for good. I enjoyed the outsider's view of Poppy and Finn's situationship in End Game, so I was eager for an up-close and personal one from the inside, and what a view it was. These two were meant for each other. They just had to get on the same page, which meant Poppy facing her past, while ignoring the negative voice in the back of her head and believing in Finn's feelings for her. I love how Finn went toe-to-toe with Poppy while still respecting her boundaries. His willingness to meet her where she was made all the difference. Poppy and Finn's playfulness had me laughing, and the way they tempted and teased each otherโ€”hot. And that's how you complete a series! Well done, @gretchenwritesbooks, well done! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŽ‰ Shadow and Son brought out such deep, raw emotion. Gretchen, I don't know if I can forgive you for ripping my heart out and shredding it over and over again during one specific scene. Nausea rolled in my stomach, my heart broke, and I cried and cried. It left me drained, dreading what was to come. I wanted to wretch. Hope and fear intertwined throughout Shadow and Son, leaving my heart on the verge of stopping. Seriously, I don't know how I survived this book. It wasn't easy. It was painful. It was gut-wrenching. Who else has been waiting for Mabel and Ten's story? It's here, and we finally get to find out why Mabel wants nothing to do with Ten. I'm currently halfway through How to Troll a Guy in Ten Days by @pippa.grant and know the answer. After finding out what happened between Mabel and Ten, I can say without a doubt I wouldn't want anything to do with him either. What a **** move on his part.
