I’m honestly so surprised. I’ve been playing this flower farming game they promises you could win free flowers. In the game I was notified that I won free flowers, but I didn’t really believe they’d actually come. But here I am today absolutely shocked that I did receive real flowers. A new icon in progress, this time I am teaching myself how to create egg tempera paint with mineral pigments and taking things slowly. Writing an icon is a spiritual process which also reveals things to you as you do it, like your need to be more patient, to accept mistake, to let go of perfection. Although I am not a great artist, icons have accompanied me. I feel pulled to write one at significant moments in my life, usually as I am coming to terms with different forms of letting go, loss, and grief. It somehow helps me to release and find deeper peace. Art is healing like that. My brother bought me this icon kit as a birthday gift. It came with the pattern and colors for Christ Panocrator (teacher). Although I spent a week praying with the image I felt no connection to it. I kept circling back to an image of the Theotokos embracing her child, realizing I’m the child longing for that embrace. I found the right pattern and when I started tracing it, I felt very satisfied in my spirit. I am not sure how this icon will turn out. Egg tempera takes time and skill (something I’m trying to develop). I’m not that interested in the result, it’s the process that’s healing. #iconography #theotokos by @beeflower8855

Amazing 1995 Shui Xian (Water Fairy) Oolong tea from @itea_world. It has a strong mineral, earthly flavor with a lot of mature, roasted depth that you don’t necessarily find in younger teas. I’ve found their teas to be reasonably price and they never disappoint. Right now they have a big sale:
