YOUR GUIDE TO CREATING THE PERFECT HALLOWEEN OUTFIT 🕸️ Who says you need to buy a new costume to look the part this Halloween?! From the perfect base layer to statement accessories, bold shoes and the art of layering… it’s all about getting creative with what’s already in your wardrobe 🖤 Think vintage shirts for vampires, chunky boots for gothic queens, retro loafers for a mod-inspired look and layers upon layers of texture to create something truly unique. ✨ Our top tips?
🦇 Start with a good base layer
🕷️ Accessorise, accessorise, accessorise!
👢 Never underestimate the power of the right shoes
🍂 Mix textures, patterns and layers
♻️ Shop your wardrobe, shop vintage and rewear your favourites! The best costumes aren’t always the ones that cost the most, they’re the ones that let your imagination run wild. So, before you buy a single-use costume this year, have a rummage through your wardrobe or come and find something special with us @sparksfashionbristolcic 🖤 Where? 📍 Inside @sparksbristol Opening hours: Monday & Tuesday: CLOSED Wednesday - Saturday: 11am-6pm Sunday: 11am-5pm #halloweenguide #halloween2026 #halloween101 by @beesamclothing
Who needs a fancy dress shop when you’ve got a little imagination and a whole lot of vintage? ✨ Snow White, Cinderella, Princess Fiona, Belle, Rapunzel, the Princess and the Pea… Sam’s been playing dress-up at Sparks and proving that the best costumes don’t have to be brand new! The secret? Layers, textures and a little magic. Mix unexpected pieces, experiment with different fabrics and give pre-loved clothes a whole new fairytale ending. Fast fashion fancy dress is often made to be worn once and thrown away. This Halloween, why not shop your wardrobe, raid a charity shop or hunt for vintage treasures instead? It’s kinder to the planet, easier on your bank and guaranteed to make your costume stand out from the crowd. Creating a costume is way cooler than buying one 😉 #halloween2026 #princesscostume #princessfancydress by @beesamclothing
THE SECRET TO A LUXURIOUS HALLOWEEN COSTUME? LAYERS 🕷️ You don’t need to spend a fortune on a fancy dress costume to create a look that looks luxurious. The trick is to layer, mix textures and play with materials. Think lace against leather, velvet with sheer fabrics, oversized knits, flowing skirts, belts, jewellery and all those little details that make an outfit feel intentional. Raid your own wardrobe, borrow from your mates, rummage through the charity shops and get creative with what you already own. You might be surprised by what you can put together! 🖤 And here’s the really scary bit: 🎃 An estimated 7 MILLION Halloween costumes are thrown away in the UK every year. 🧵 Research found that 83% of the material in Halloween clothing and costumes surveyed was plastic. 🍼 That plastic waste was estimated to weigh around 2,000 tonnes, the equivalent of approximately 83 million plastic bottles.* Fast, cheap fancy dress might only be worn once, but its environmental impact lasts far longer. The best costume might already be hanging in your wardrobe 🦇 *Source: Hubbub & The Fairyland Trust, 2019 research. #halloweeninspo #halloweenlayering #fancydressideas | Bristol students | witch costume | practical magic | halloween outfit | how to build a halloween costume. by @beesamclothing
I had some time to kill, so naturally… I did some market research 👀 And honestly? I was BAFFLED. I popped into Next and compared the prices of some brand new pieces with what you can find in our corner of @sparksbristol and the results were… interesting 😵‍💫 Because we get told vintage is “too expensive” and a “luxury” for a lot of people (which we completely understand)… Meanwhile, new pieces on the high street are costing more than their vintage counterparts 🤯 And here’s the bit that really gets me: A lot of the vintage pieces we sell are made from better quality, longer lasting materials such as cotton, wool, linen, leather etc. Whereas some of the new pieces I found were predominantly polyester or other synthetic fibres, dressed up with phrases like: ✨ “Made with recycled materials”
✨ “Contains linen” And yes, recycled fibres can absolutely have a place in fashion. But slapping “recycled plastic” on a label doesn’t automatically make a garment sustainable. Sometimes the most sustainable thing you can buy is simply the thing that already exists. So before you assume vintage = expensive, have a look at the price tags. You might be surprised 🤑 Second-hand doesn’t have to mean second-best. And buying vintage doesn’t have to mean spending more. Come and have a rummage at the Sparks Fashion CIC in Bristol and you might just find something better, for less. 🐝♻️ #secondhandseptember #sustainablefashion #pricecomparison by @beesamclothing

Children’s clothes deserve more than one childhood! That one thought is what inspired me to write the very first Bee Tiny blog. Let’s call them: Tiny Thoughts 💭 As parents, it’s so easy to see children’s clothes as something they’re destined to outgrow. But what is we started seeing them differently? As pieces that can be worn, loved, passed on and enjoyed again. Choosing second-hand isn’t about being perfect. It’s about making one small choice that helps keep quality clothes in circulation for a little longer. If you’ve ever wondered why vintage means so much to me, I’d love for you to have a read and get a tiny insight into my brain 💛 You’ll find the blog through the link in my bio ✍️ Have you always shopped second-hand for your tiny ones? Or are you just starting your journey? I’d love to hear your thoughts below 👇🏼 Tiny choices. Big difference. #circularfashion #kidsvintage #slowfashion by @beesamclothing
POV: You’re just trying to steam and suddenly you’re convincing yourself it would look so much better in your own wardrobe. 😅 The daily battle of every vintage seller: ✨ Try it on “just to check the fit.” ✨ Fall completely in love. ✨ Debate keeping it. ✨ Remember you actually run a business. 😂 Tell me honestly... if you found this beauty, would you be selling it or secretly taking it home? 👀👇 And yes it did fit like a glove and became my favourite summer dress ❤️ #vintageproblems #retaillife #vintagesellerproblems by @beesamclothing
☀️ If I had to choose... these would be my picks from the Sun Drop. 🌼 This collection has been so hard to narrow down, but these are the pieces I keep coming back to... Every piece in the Sun Drop has been hand-picked, washed, checked and photographed by me. But be quick, once they’re gone... they’re gone. Which one are you adding to your basket? 👀👇 🐝 The Sun Drop launches 03/07 at 7pm. Save this post, set a reminder and be ready because the best vintage never hangs around for long. #90snostalgia #kidsvintage #vintagekidsclothes by @beesamclothing
