They say it takes a village it make a strongman competition happen and that also includes most of that village just to get me over the finish line.

The last year has been pretty rough on me. I had no intention of competing and the way my body felt I didn't think I would physically be able to. I had been battling injuries in my neck, shoulder, knee, both elbows, and all over my back just from years of abuse.

As the time was coming around to start prep for the Rainier I'm sure that both @erinmurray.wsw and @kingthekind_ thought this was a questionable idea at best.

Spencer has helped guide me through a lot of my crazier goals and always helped keep me in check. He's always in my corner and there whenever I need him.

I've also become Erin's problem child. I don't think she has another athlete that she stresses over more than when I send her training clips of my clumsy ass. We've spent the better part of the last year trying to fix all the broken stuff on me and when it came down to crunch time she got me to the cleanest peak I've ever had and I was finally able to put a show together with her watchful eye.

A massive thank you to @cerebral_wellbeing for fixing my mental health and getting me dialed in.

A special thanks to @lucas.hatton as well. He seems to know how to walk by and deliver perfect tech tips to me randomly when I need it whether it be how to extend or just reminding me that I'm pretty fucking strong. He also makes sure to give the amateurs a show that feels like a major with a format and events that are so rewarding to do.

A giant shout out and thank you to @kaelynvoss and @thedapperdc for fixing me, stretching me, adjusting me, duct taping me, and somehow keeping me upright. I physically couldn't have done this without them.

The list just goes on too. I had @gabe.deal helping me, @the_turgano for always being around to help me out, @franklinlifts for my new CDB rack which made me good at it @stronger_iv keeping me hydrated and pain free.

and last, but certainly not least, I spent 2 phenomenal years with @texastitangabe as a Titan which turned me in to a force and built a foundation that I will always grow from and be thankful for. by @beeseumz

Well that's a wrap on the 2026 @rainierclassic.

Event 1- Block Press 105kg IFSA: Hurting my tricep less than 2 weeks out had me really nervous for this event. I really had to fight to get it up. I got the downcall right as I started to lose it again, but had I not, I would have fought to the death to get the rep. I got the event win on split time.

Event 2- Truck Deadlift ~660lb in hand: I'm very happy with how this went. Deadlift is notoriously my worst event so to set such a massive PR on this was huge for me. I also didn't fully empty the tank and still secured 2nd.

Event 3- Bag Toss 25,30,35,40,45: 16 seconds for all bags. This is a very comfortable event for me and one I wanted and needed to win so that I could control what I needed to to on day 2. I went out, took clean intentional movements to avoid mistakes and won it clean.

Event 4- Circus Dumbell 160 or 180lb: This was a big one for me. I was not good at CDB coming into this prep but over the last month I have become very proficient at it. My warm up time got cut short due to a schedule change. I needed to beat 2 reps on the 160 so I played it safe and went for the triple to secure my third event win.

Event 5- Lucas's Pain Cave 280lb Farmers, 265lb Anvil, 265lb IFSA Front Carry, 385lb Anchor Drag: I had to finish this event to maintain a good lead heading into event 6. I can move well but I knew that this was going to take all I had to get a clean time on. I was able to finish the whole thing in 57.71 sec to get my 4th event win and this would secure my victory at the end of the day.

Event 6- Washington Stone To Shoulder 285lb: Fuck this stone. It kicked my ass in training and it kicked my ass on the floor. I changed how I wanted to lift it going into the show and unfortunately I was getting light headed and blacking out with it on my chest despite actually figuring out the damn thing. I'm coming back for it another day. Wr all failed the stone in the 120 class so this one didn't cost me. It finally took some pros to lift it on the day. by @beeseumz

1st place at the Rainer classic for @beeseumz !!!!

Kevin I’m gonna get a little sappy with this one so sorry in advance as you know I’m a little emo kid.

I remember our first call after Shelly hooked us up. I was so excited that I basically talked your ear off the whole call. We had a huge job of getting you down about to 231 from like 270’s if I remember correctly, in less than 3 months. An absolutely crazy thing that no sane person should ever do.

Since that took place last year it’s been a crazy journey back to the same competition. Only a few people fully know what that journey has truly entailed I feel very blessed to have been able to work with you through it.

The friendship we have cultivated over the time we’ve been together has been a true bond I very much am grateful for. (btw I still owe you for the ride to the Shaw)

Easily the most hyped I've been all prep. This blocks were so much more difficult than I first thought training on the Mouser Blocks. Huge confidence builder today, now I just have to execute at @rainierclassic taken in Dungeon Strength RX by @beeseumz

14 months since lifting my first stone, and I got the 400lb one up today. Pretty massive lift for me. Been a helluva journey. This was my second time touching those this stone and first time getting it off the floor.

This weekend, we got 9 people to go to @growcarnivorousplants , and it was a blast. Their open house was awesome like always, and everyone was supper helpful. Next year I am looking forward to there next one.
