My Favorite Things About Call of My Life 🎬✨

This movie was beautiful in so many ways. One thing I really loved was seeing Soluchi “Uzoamaka Power” work at a call center. I honestly don’t think I’ve seen any Nollywood movies that showcase a call center office setting, so that was refreshing and different.

The movie also had so many genuinely funny moments that made me smile. Another thing I enjoyed was watching the main character caught between two men “ Zubby Micheal and Andrew Bunting” both amazing in their own ways, but completely different. It created an interesting dynamic and made the story even more enjoyable.

Typical nollywood stories tend to make one man less desirable thus easy for the audience to choose.

What I loved most:

⭐ The storyline
It pulled me in and kept me interested. Although somewhat predictable, it was still a sweet and cute story. For me, pacing felt a little slow in the beginning.

⭐ The performances
The actors truly brought their characters to life with so much emotion. There were no weak performances. I was also pleasantly surprised to see legends like Mama G and Nkem Owoh in the movie.

⭐ The message
A reminder that our choices, relationships, and experiences all play a role in shaping our journey. Love the moments of Soluchi with her mother and dad so heart warming to see especially since Nollywood keeps giving us horrible mother stories.

Also, love the friendship with her bestie “Beverly Osu” and thankfully no one betrayed anyone.

⭐ The relatable moments
The struggles, love, and challenges felt real and easy to connect with.

What shocked me ? Bro Shaggi actually played a normal role and it was refreshing to see.

Call of My Life is one of those movies that reminds you why Nollywood storytelling continues to connect with audiences.

Kudos to the cast and crew and creative writer, Uzoamaka Power. Road to 1 Billion 🥰🥰🥰
The music, cinematography, outfits, location and we even got a short Johnny Drille concert. Everything about this movie was well thought with the goal of giving the audience a thrill.

Have you seen it? What was your favorite part?

The Farmer’s Daughter Movie Review

Streaming on Omoni Oboli TV
Main cast: Chris Attoh and Detola Jones

Plot:
We meet Morenike, a hardworking village girl living with her aging father in Olobun village. Life has never been easy for them. She lost her mother during childbirth, her brother mysteriously died at the stream, and tragedy seems to follow the family everywhere. To the villagers, they are nothing but bad luck.

Then there’s Chima, a wealthy property developer caught in a scandal after allegedly killing his only daughter before fleeing the city. Fate brings him to Morenike’s village… and from there, everything changes.

My Take:
First of all, I absolutely loved the village setting. It felt peaceful, warm, and inviting. This movie had such a different vibe and honestly, I enjoyed every bit of it. My only little complaint was the runtime at over 2 hours, it did feel a bit long and slow-burn at times, but still very enjoyable overall.

Chima escapes the chaos of the city and somehow ends up in Morenike’s village by chance. Then her father mistakes him for his lost son, making it even harder for him to leave.

I also loved the use of the Yoruba language. It made the story feel more authentic and grounded. The movie starts strong too once it pulls you in, it’s hard to stop watching. I was especially impressed with Detola’s Yoruba; she completely nailed her role.

The chemistry between the lead characters was really good. At some point, I even joked that Chris would leave this movie speaking Yoruba fluently 😅

One thing the movie highlighted well is how cruel people can sometimes be. A family that truly needed compassion became isolated and shunned instead.

Visually, everything about this movie was beautiful to watch, and I genuinely enjoyed it. Another solid story and script from @yukay_wrights

The only thing that didn’t quite work for me was the title. It just didn’t hit as hard as the movie itself. Did the title work for you, or do you think it could have had a better one?

Have you seen this ? should you watch? Yes!!

🎬 Bee’s Watchlist | Sarah’s Oil

Finally saw this movie.

What an inspiring story! Sarah’s Oil is based on the remarkable true story of Sarah Rector, an 11-year-old Black girl whose “worthless” land unexpectedly struck oil, changing her life forever. But with wealth came greed, manipulation, and people eager to take what was rightfully hers.

This was also a sad story because a lot of innocent people died in the process.

This isn’t just a movie about oil but it’s also about faith, resilience, family, and standing your ground when the odds are stacked against you.

Young Naya Desir-Johnson delivers a heartfelt performance, and the film beautifully highlights a piece of history many of us were never taught.

It’s family-friendly, inspiring, and leaves you reflecting long after the credits roll.

If you enjoy faith-based films, historical dramas, or movies inspired by true events, I’d definitely recommend adding this one to your watchlist.

Bee’s Rating: 8.5/10

Unpopular opinion…

Watching The Strange Woman, and I have questions. 😊

A busy couple is overwhelmed with work, and the wife convinces her husband to hire a live-in maid. He isn’t on board at first, but eventually agrees.

Now… what could possibly go wrong?

Well, as the title suggests, welcome to The Strange Woman. 😅

Here’s what has me thinking:

• Who hires a maid without checking references or calling a previous employer? Is that really too much to ask?

• Their child looks to be around 11/12 years old. I’m curious how they managed all those years without household help. At that age, kids can usually pitch in with age-appropriate chores too.

• And finally, trust your instincts. If something feels off, it often is.

Those are my thoughts so far!

Have you seen The Strange Woman? What did you think?

I’m enjoying it so far. 🥰

Imagine you finally meet your knight in shining armor. ❤️

You’re outspoken on social media and never shy away from speaking your mind. Fast forward, you fall in love, and it’s time to meet his family.

But there’s one problem: his mother doesn’t like you… and she doesn’t even try to hide it.

So here’s my question:

As a woman, do you walk away, or do you stay and fight for the relationship?

Another thing that had me thinking…

Why didn’t she tell her husband about the pregnancy first?

Instead, she went to the house of someone who clearly couldn’t stand her. Personally, I would have shared such life-changing news with my partner before anyone else.

And was it too early to tell the in-laws in the first place, especially when it was also long distance marriage.

What would you have done?

* Would you leave if your future in-laws openly disliked you?
* Would you stay and hope things improve?
* And who should hear about a pregnancy first, your partner or the in-laws?

🎬 What I Watched This Past Week

Here’s my weekly watchlist - a mix of drama, romance, suspense, and a little chaos 😅

🎥 Victoria (Prime Video)
A story about a woman battling infertility while dealing with the ultimate betrayal from her husband. Emotional and full of twists.

🎥 Aba Blues (Kava TV)
Funny enough, we never actually see Aba 😂 but the story follows a newlywed couple where one person still seems to have eyes on their ex. And we all know that’s usually where the drama begins!

🎥 Good Enough ( YouTube)
Two people fall in love, but love gets complicated when one person comes with some serious “mummy issues.”

🎥 Million Dollar Secret ( Netflix)
A game show that asks the question: What would you do to win $1,000,000? Would you play fair… or get deceptive to make it to the end?

🎥 On My Honor ⭐ ( YouTube)
I really enjoyed this one! A wife with limited time left makes a life-changing decision and decides to play God. The question is… why? 🤔 You’ll have to watch to find out.

🎥 Mother’s Bargain ( YouTube)
A chief falls in love with a young woman, but their love story comes with plenty of obstacles.

🎥 Fracture (Netflix)
This one will have you questioning everything. Nothing is quite what it seems, and it will definitely mess with your brain.

🍿 Another week, another lineup of stories. What have you been watching lately?

🎬 BEESWATCHLIST REVIEW: ON MY HONOR

Cast: Toosweet Annan, Chinonso Arubayi and Osereme Inegbenbor

From Royal Arts TV movie

Plot: A woman finds out she has limited time left on earth… and instead of crying quietly like the rest of us would, she decides to do advanced wife duties:
“Let me find another woman to give my husband a child.”

Yes. You read that right. 😭

What could possibly go wrong with this arrangement? Keep reading.

My Take
The cast gave such great performances and loved every part of it. The pacing could have been a little better still much better than most Nollywood YouTube movies.

The story was unique. April portrayed by Osereme is diagnosed with a brain tumor and doesn’t have much time left. Unfortunately she and her hubby, Mark don’t have any kids after several failed attempts. Mark and her have What seems like a lovely relationship.

She becomes very moody and sad, all their conversations revolve around death. But being a loving wife, she decides that the hubby should get a second wife. The husband isn’t interested but agrees to a surrogate that will carry a baby for them.

In the village, Honor’s mother has her own drama, she is married to a useless man who not only physically abuses but willing to sexually assault his step daughter, Honor.

Did it happen? You have to watch. Fast forward Honor and Mark’s path cross and she decides to help them but for a fee.

One thing leads to another and somone gets pregnant. Who is pregnant ?

Morals of the story
You aren’t God, don’t play God in your life or anyone’s life.
Secondly, when diagnosed with any condition always ensure you get a second and 3rd opinion if possible.

Just when you’re settling into the drama like “okay this is deep, I understand the sacrifice…” Nollywood said plot twist incoming! 🚨

The plot twist I didn’t see coming at all. Okay back to the movie.

I don’t want to give spoilers so please watch and thank me later. This movie deserves 5 million views

Let’s talk about it. What did you enjoy most? Did the twist shock you.

What will you rate it ?

My Rating 7.5/10

Mother’s Bargain

They really goofed with the age gap. Wouldn’t it have made more sense if the man was 45–50? Instead, they made him 60.

So we’re expected to believe a 60-year-old billionaire falls in love with a 23-year-old woman… and to make it even more awkward, he’s older than her mother, who says she’s in her 40s.

This 3-hour Nollywood movie had no business being that long. The first 1½ hours dragged with so many unnecessary scenes.

Three hours later, and the only thing we really know about the billionaire is that he throws money at everything he loves. 😂

That said, the last hour was much stronger and gave me the classic old Nollywood vibes that so many of us miss. Would have been nice to see how the wife begins to love and reciprocate the love.

I eventually watched parts of it at 1.5x speed and still found myself fast-forwarding through several scenes.

Now I’m curious… did you watch the whole movie at normal speed, or were you fast-forwarding too?
