Honestly i was preparing myself to take off the door.

If you work on old cars you’ll know that sometimes simple problems can turn into rabbit holes but on this occasion that wasn’t the case and the solution was simple.

The little spring has aged and rusted losing some of its energy. My quick solution was to tighten it which has worked.

Both mirrors are starting to show their age and deserve an upgrade soon so I didn’t spend too long removing the rust.

Before attempting the fix i did a bit of research but couldn’t find much help online, so hopefully this vid can help someone out.

With bigger projects on the go it was nice to get a quick win. by @beetlebug101

A classic always keeps you on your toes, this time my indicators stopped working

Learning about the beetles electronics was tricky for a novice but very insightful.

Shortly after replacing my fuel lines my indicators conked out. The culprit was the Hazard warning light switch which had become faulty.

This took a while to figure out because I had to test each component in the system!

Fit new fuel lines with me!

Part 2|2 visit my page for pt.1 where are tear out the old rotten pipes

I made this fix after constantly smelling gasoline to the point it made both driver and passenger feel sick. Turns out it’s caused by the fuel lines cracking with age and is a fairly straightforward fix.

I bought the fuel pipe kit from @coolairvw and followed a tutorial by @justkampers

Maybe your pipes are just old, frail and leaking.

First time I’ve ripped bits out of my car and let me tell you, it takes some courage!

It was very disheartening to see the absolute state of the rust situation in the back. In this video i take the time to clear everything out the way and find all the trouble causes.

In the next video I’ll be taking preventative steps to finally stop water getting inside in the first place.
