Flowers 🌸

This song means a lot to me. I wrote it from a place of trying to understand love, faith, time, and how quickly certain moments in life can pass you by.

I feel like I’m in a really different place in my life right now. A lot is changing, a lot is being built, and I’m learning to appreciate where I am while still looking forward to where I’m going. I think that’s what Flowers became for me, learning that not everything is meant to last forever, but that doesn’t make it any less beautiful.

I’m really grateful I get to share this one with you. It’s simple, it’s honest, and it’s probably one of the most personal songs I’ve made.

And honestly… I’m really excited for these next few months. I’ve been working on something behind the scenes that I’ve put a lot of myself into. I’m not saying the title yet, but it’s a 3-song project, and all three songs are completely done.

Now I get to build the world around them. The visuals, the feeling, the story, everything. These songs mean a lot to me and I genuinely think there’s something special here.

For now, though…

A week after meeting Mikael, we linked up at his place in Koreatown and had one of the deepest conversations I’ve had in a long time. We talked about where I came from, past relationships, who I’m becoming, and what it really means to stop wasting time and give your all to the things and people you love.

Just dropped Drunk N Love last night. It’s out now.

This one’s real personal to me. I talk about self-isolating and feeling the most like myself when I’m alone… far away from everything I’m comfortable with and even the people I love.

This song goes deep. I talk about my childhood, the park I grew up at in Eastgate, where I got into my first fight, and thinking back to middle school when not everybody was the nicest to me and honestly I wasn’t the most likable either.

So when I say, “fuck them niggas right now ‘cause I can’t rock with them,” that line means something to me. It’s not just something that sounded cool to say. It’s a real feeling I carried, and a piece of my life.

Whether I’m rapping or singing, I always want y’all to feel something from me. Everything I make comes from my real life, the things I’ve been through, and the stuff I’ve had to face. My whole life I’ve tried to cover up insecurities and hide parts of myself, and this song is me being honest about that.

I hope y’all can feel it. Drunk N Love is out now.

This song is really about how when we’re kids, we talk about all the things we love and all the things we wanna be. We dream big and don’t think twice about it.

Then life starts happening. We get older, go through stuff, get busy, and somehow stop talking about the things that used to light us up. It can feel like we lost a part of ourselves.

This song is just a reminder to get back to that. To talk about what you love, what you’re passionate about, and what you’re still dreaming of.

Feels like we’ve lost what we’re dreaming of… but I’m still holding on.
