Begonias can be so varied in size, colour, shape and texture... it's one of the reasons I love them! 💕

What Begonia is on your wish list at the moment?

Even a small space is totally transformed with plants 🌱

Of course it had to be Begonias!

Happy Friday ☺️💚

A sun stressed 🌞 Begonia Pink Minx 💗

Forever a favourite houseplant, and for good reason, because... just look at her 😍

When you make Begonia hybrids your plant collection looks like this ✨

(Colorata x Tawau) x Sp. Lahad Datu & all their children!

'Pink Gem' is a firm favourite for me, it has everything... but I'm most obsessed with the growth habit (it's so round and full!) and of course how unique and vibrant pink/purple it is.

I do love all the others too though!

This is the basic soil mix I use for my regular houseplants & Begonias 💚

4 litres soil
1 litre worm castings
1/2 litre charcoal
1 litre perlite
1 litre coco fibres/chips

You can add in extras or switch it up but this is a great base mix that is moisture retentive whilst also being light and airy. I don't usually choose bark in mixes with Begonias, but if you wanted to tailor this to your monstera or philodendron you could add bark. 💚

How could you get bored of growing Begonias as house plants when they're all so different 💕

One of my unnamed hybrid seedlings 🌱

Love how the pattern on the leaf changes with maturity ✨

Begonia Sp. Papua 'Purple Veins' has well and truly earned a photo shoot ✨

The neon green leaf is so vibrant, and helps to show every little coloured vein running through it. You can't help but notice how similar the plants 'vein' system looks to ours.

Not only is she beautiful, but also really easy to grow (yes, really!) for a 'terrarium' species. This plant has not stopped growing since it arrived, and it has massively sized up, with two repots since I got it. Patiently waiting for flowers now 💕

Thanks to @twisted_baws_begonia for sending me this beauty to grow 💚

So many reasons to love this plant... in fact it's so beautiful, with its abundant pink flowers, that I barely ever prop it! ✨

A vigorous and easy grower, my favourite selected seedling of Begonia Dracopelta x Malachosticta 🖤

A simple way to make a plant wall using just wooden crates, and plenty of foliage! 🍃

I personally love the freedom and simplicity of this, as my plants always quickly outgrow shelves & cabinets.

If you were at Bournemouth Rare Plant Fair on Sunday, you will recognise these crates as the ones I used in my display 🥰 big thanks to everyone who turned up, and those of you who travelled a long way to be there!
