We’re going back to 1979/1980 or so… Real Day 1 status right here!💯

Both of us turned 50 this past February, and no matter how much time has gone by, my girl Babette has stayed true🙏🏾

A beautiful and kind soul🤍
Love her down, y’all!

PS - We did NOT plan our outfits in slide 2!! We met up looking like twins that day!😩🙌🏾 by @behbeit

I turn 50 in a few days and hitting 1/2 a century has got me feeling some type a way. To celebrate I’m in Thailand for 5 weeks and today I start 21 days of vipassana in a monastery where I will be in the space between my nostrils and upper lip to the next 21 days feeling life and letting it pass over me. Please, pray for me. Last time I did this for 10 days I said never again.

we are the container, holders of space that we offer without judgement or attachment, a sharing of what we have to give, a wellspring of abundance and nourishment. the air that binds water, we build your futures, disrupt your past and breathe air into your present.

This Capricorn New Moon is asking you to stop before you decide. I've made a meditation for guiding you through the pause, you can find the link in my bio. Also, here are some prompts to use with your cards, Pull three cards and listen with your body, not your urgency.

What tension, pressure or expectation did the pause reveal?
What becomes available when I pause?
How will i return to the pause in my daily life?

Take this time in the dark moon, to create enough space to breathe.
The pause isn’t a break from the work.
It’s what makes the work possible.

Save this. Come back when the pressure returns.

Tickets @ watahtheatre.ca
February 17 – March 8, 2026
Watah Studio Theatre
32 Lisgar Street, Studio 14
Tkaronto

Watah Theatre proudly presents esu crossing the middle passage: orisha trilogy part one, a landmark work of dub theatre by d’bi.young anitafrika, returning to the stage for its 10-year anniversary at the newly established Watah Studio Theatre. The production launches Watah Theatre’s 2026 season and invites audiences to experience anitafrika’s biomyth monodrama work in an intimate studio setting.
Originally premiering in 2016 at the Storefront Theatre to critical acclaim—including Four N’s from NOW Magazine, a Critic’s Pick, and a Dora Award nomination—esu crossing the middle passage has since become a foundational work within anitafrika’s canon and the first chapter of The Orisha Trilogy.

Set aboard a slave ship and embodied by Esu, the Orisha of crossroads and transformation, the piece follows a womxn’s journey into the Transatlantic enslavement system of humxn trafficking, through poetry, ritual movement, and multi-media and sound. A performance installation and ode to the spirit of surthrival, esu crossing is a theatrical event that softens the contours between ritual, performance, and representation.

Originally created during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement, esu crossing the middle passage emerged as a politically charged intervention in contemporary theatre, opening space to confront the enduring legacies of colonialism, enslavement, and racial violence. Nearly a decade later, the work speaks with renewed urgency. In a present moment shaped by global unrest and cultural reckoning, the piece affirms theatre as a necessary site for collective witnessing—where history is remembered, embodied, questioned, and re-futured.

I was deep in the waters all day leading up to the new moon., and today, the energy of this new moon continues to pull us into the deep end, where buried truth rises, desire sharpens, and the body finally speaks what the mind refused to name. At 28°, Scorpio asks us to let something old dissolve so something truer can come forward.

If you’re feeling the unraveling, the ache, the pull to reclaim yourself… you’re right on time.
I created a Scorpio New Moon tarot spread to help you move with this energy:

What is rising for me to witness?
What is ready to be released or transmuted?
Where am I reclaiming my power?
What desire wants to be spoken aloud?
What medicine is this new moon offering me?
What does my body need to integrate this shift?

And — I’ve finally posted the guided meditation for A Way Oracle Deck, on Spotify (link in bio). Sorry for the delay. This mediation is intended to guide you through creating your own connection with the deck and making your own meaning of it, using pendulation to access your inner capacity. Think: grief medicine, descent work, and returning to yourself with tenderness. .
Be gentle with what surfaces.
