When we say the future of our industry is inclusive, accessible, and community-led, this is what it looks like in action. Hair Has No Gender was deeply honored to support the @behereandbeinfinite show, founded by @beherewithvee. This show is dedicated to creating spaces where every artist, especially students, feels seen, affirmed, and equipped to thrive.

• 62% students & 38% beauty pros, attended this year’s show, bridging the gap between learning and thriving.

• $5,000 was awarded across 10 education stipends to directly fund tools, products, and career growth.

• 10 industry panelists & 16 activations fueled real, unfiltered education.

• 7 local vendors, centering Latine, Black, Brown, and LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs participated.

Ahead of Hispanic Heritage Month, Oakland entrepreneur Vee Vargas is bringing beauty professionals together for the third annual “Be Here & Be Infinite” — an event focused on education, entrepreneurship and creating opportunities for underrepresented professionals in the beauty industry.

We talked about building community, breaking barriers and a new $5,000 education stipend initiative helping the next generation of beauty professionals. 💇🏽‍♀️✨

Vanessa “Vee” Vargas (she/her/ella) is a queer Latina entrepreneur, educator, and community organizer dedicated to transforming the beauty industry through connection, mentorship, and belonging. She is the founder of Be Here, an award-winning inclusive luxury hair salon in Oakland, and Be Infinite, a nonprofit creating accessible pathways into the beauty industry through paid apprenticeships, scholarships, and community education.

With more than 14 years behind the chair, Vee believes beauty has the power to restore confidence, create opportunity, and build community. Her work centers BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, and first-generation beauty professionals while helping shape a more equitable future for the industry.

At July de Jefas, Vee will host the Refresh Bar, offering complimentary hair touch-ups so attendees can feel confident, refreshed, and ready to enjoy the celebration.
