What a day. ❤️🇨🇩

We came together for a good cause, had an amazing turnout, and so far we’ve raised £3,000 and counting for Tearfund’s work in Congo.

More than anything, this showed what can happen when people genuinely come together and back something meaningful.

A massive thank you to everyone who played, came down, donated, shared the event or supported us in any way. None of this happens without you.

And this won’t be the last one. We want to keep creating days like this, bringing people together and using our community to do some good.

Donations are still open, so if you’d like to contribute, the link is in our bio. 🇨🇩❤️ by @behindtheguard

The World Cup may be over, but football is still bringing people together. ⚽

BehindtheGuard, Captain’s Corner, and Walaalo FC are proud to announce our upcoming charity 5-a-side tournament in support of Tearfund’s work in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Every team, ticket and donation will help support communities affected by conflict and displacement in the DRC, with 100% of ticket proceeds going to the cause.

Come down to play, support from the sidelines or donate if you can’t make it on the day.

Money Moves ✅🥊

Last night at @weare_spotlight with @limehouseboxingacademy was a brilliant one.

@moneyreadyuk on budgeting, tax and pay slips. Connect to Work team on jobs and career support. @boxingislove_org keeping the energy going boxing with challenges with prizes, and introducing attendees to different jobs in boxing and how to best prepare themselves for their future career. Commonwealth Featherweight Champion @mas_masood1 speaking honestly about money, discipline and the realities of life as a professional boxer.
This is about taking support into spaces young people already trust and feel comfortable in.

We’re also working on a dedicated financial education course for boxers - covering contracts, income, tax and how to navigate money if you decide to go professional. More on that soon.

With nearly one million young people in the UK currently not in education, employment or training, evenings like this matter. We’ll be doing more of them.

Big up everyone who came through 🙏🏽 taken in We are Spotlight by @behindtheguard

MONEY MOVES! Free community evening for young people brought to you by @behindtheguard and @thecaptaincorner

🗓️ Monday 8th June
⏰ 6 - 8pm
📍 Spotlight (top floor), 30 Hay Currie St, E14 6GN

🍗 Free food - jerk chicken + jollof rice

💼 1-1 employment support with the Connect to Work team - who can help with CV writing, job searches, cover letters, interview prep, and 12 months of ongoing support.

📚 @moneyreadyuk breaking down the things schools never taught you - pay slips, tax codes, budgeting. Nobody ever sat down and explained how money actually works. That’s what they are here for.

🥊 A professional boxer breaks down the financial reality of boxing - fight purses, training camp costs, and what’s actually left over in the end.

This is NOT just for boxers. Any young person in London is welcome - come through, eat for free, and leave with something useful.
