It has been my pleasure to arrive in a moment that defines everything that I represent. Diaspora Through Scent was my first fully immersive smellscape experience hosted at @blkcoffeeco for their month long global community festival.

Bringing together our expertise, Brother Thabit @perfumedgarden_usa and I showcased the vast variety of botanicals and traditions that have shape our worldview and heritage from continental regions such as Sub- Saharan Africa, The Arabian Peninsula, South Asia, The Caribbean, & Black America.

This was a powerful opportunity for us to prompt a discourse on what it means to be Afro-Diasporan and where our origin truly exists.

We closed out this powerful moment with a shared scent memory as we embraced a limited edition blend designed to bring us back to our inheritance which can truly only be found in our deepest breath. 🌾🌍

My only advice to you in this life is to keep smelling the flowers…

I love who I’ve become and who I’m becoming.

People will try to convince you all of your life that there’s something you’re missing, something you should have done or must do… but they don’t know. They don’t know like you know and they actually don’t know how they are doing it either. But if you can at least get to a space where you feel liberated and certain in your will to LIVE YOUR LIFE fully. That is enough. That is success.
