🌧️ Tiny plant. Special habitat. Big ecological story.

Eriocaulon sharmae is a small herb associated with the monsoon-dependent wet habitats of Maharashtra's Western Ghats. 🌿

Its compact flower heads and slender stalks may be easy to overlook—but this narrowly distributed endemic is part of the extraordinary biodiversity hidden across seasonal wetlands and lateritic plateaus.

Sometimes, the smallest plants tell us the biggest stories about a landscape. ✨

Have you explored a lateritic plateau during the monsoon?

🌧️ Hidden underground. Awakened by the monsoon. 🌿

Dipcadi montanum, or Wild Hyacinth, emerges from its underground bulb when favourable monsoon conditions arrive.

With its delicate drooping flowers growing among rocky slopes and open grasslands, this seasonal beauty is a wonderful reminder that nature is always waiting for the right moment to bloom. ✨

Have you spotted this monsoon beauty before?

Pretty flowers. Explosive secrets.

This is Impatiens balsamina, the Garden Balsam. At first glance, it looks like a simple ornamental flower—but its mature seed capsules can suddenly burst and throw seeds away! 🌱💥

That tiny moment of botanical drama is called ballochory.

Next time you see a balsam plant, look beyond the flowers… nature may be hiding a surprise. 🌿✨

Have you ever seen its seed pods explode?
